Spiderman or GoW, leaning GoW. Doesn't have the passion of Brad's RDR but has a more general appeal. Jeff actively despising RDR was expected, but Ben is falling out of love, too. Vinny seems mostly indifferent. I expect it'll start to wear on a few others as well. I've heard a lot of people say that the further in they get the more frustrating the systems can be and the more it wears on your patience.

That said, none of them have beat it, another insane powerful climax could lean it back in some favors.

i don't really worry too much about what jeff doesn't like until it's clear what he does. and i just don't think jeff is backing anything at the goty level this year. maybe he'll surprise me but i expect him to be pretty passive again.

Yeah, in recent years, Jeff has been really cynical.

Hes still one of the most entertaining, and one of my favorite people, but it consistently bums me out.

Perhaps the best set of GOTY bombcasts is 2014 because it was not a good year. Even though Bayonetta 2 should have won, as recently admitted by noted Shadow of Mordor backer Dan Ryckert.

I think it's not hitting as much as I would like, but Brad enthusiastically reading off an email about how ponies are not baby horses like it's some big revelation for people to be shocked about because he legitimately didn't know is a top tier Bombcast moment for me.

GOTY is going to God of War for sure (not my own bias talking -- I bounced off the game almost immediately). Dan absolutely loved it; they're all still going to be favorable toward its story beats and "Kratos redemption" hook. The majority will probably admit that it's a more enjoyable game to play than RDR2 if not as ambitious contentwise. Jeff's basically indifferent toward GoW, whereas he actively dislikes RDR2.

Best game I've played this year is either Oxenfree or Night in the Woods.

I...guess my actual GotY is GoW, and it's strange that that feels wrong because I did love that game.
