What the hell happened? These days I hear it's not worth buying anything from them. If you want a good quality Remington gun, buy an 870 from the 90's or something. Are they really that bad these days?

Because perception is reality, so when there was speculation that they were going under a while back people stopped buying them.

They were bought by Freedom Group in 07, to maximize profits they cut corners and thats when quality took a big hit. I bought a new 870 in 05 and its decent quality, wouldnt buy any new Remington though.
