Chloe is definitely terrible fodder, but it's perhaps possible that maybe Lightning wasn't as bad as CBIX made her look.

Well, it's hard to say since cn's updater cuts off at midnight so I can't examine the percentage shifts too closely at the moment. This is when we should be in the dead zone where Europe dominates, and Spyro's chopping off percentage at a good clip now. Chloe is, too, strangely. I guess Europe doesn't like FFXIII despite generally liking the series.

I would normally expect Ganondorf to start dropping off here, too, but he's actually doing better in the UK than in North America. Did TWEWY not come out in Europe or something?

It did. I figured technically being Square would help Neku here, but I guess he's more closely related to Nintendo in terms of trends.

I think this is right. FFs and Zeldas tend to gain more popularity when they aren't the most recent. I think for some games there may be a goldilocks zone where it's still new enough to give it a second chance and reconsider, but not old enough for them to lose favor due to a shrinking fanbase.

If Cuphead = Spyro, Dante would beat Chun-Li with 66.32%. I don't think I'd be willing to give Dante quite that much on her (although he'd probably fall somewhere in the 62-64% range, I think), so I'd probably favor Spyro.

I think he would have needed more nominations to be able to do anything, because the only 1 seeds he might have a shot at are 2B and Geralt, and it's debatable at best if he'd take out either of them.

There are definitely some weak fourpacks in the bracket he might have had a shot at.

Cuphead didn't get a lot of noms and he's performing like a 16 should against a 1 seed. It doesn't look like he got done dirty to me, it looks like he got a pretty fair placement and votes for how popular he is.

Hmmm in that case might have to try for a nomination rally for Cuphead next contest (hopefully it's soon enough for him to stay relevant). I'd love to see him go for an upset match on someone around Spyro's level

Yeah, but that's a bit unrealistic to take out 3 seeded characters for a 16 seed.

But if Cuphead just got a few extra nominations and moved up just one seed, we could have him in the Ellie/KOS-MOS/Aqua four pack in Quiet's place, or in the Shovel/Toad/Waluigi fourpack in Aerith's place. He probably wouldn't be favored in those slots, but I wouldn't be surprised if he placed above some of those characters I mentioned.

Those are fair hypotheticals, but I don't think Cuphead wins against Aqua and Aerith would leave him with a loss so that's a poor choice of replacements.

I think Cup would edge out over Narukami. He made Shadow look strong in 2013, who then lost to Gordon Freeman in round 2. Persona tends to get overestimated I think likely because of how good the games are.

I'm not regretting it at all as long as @SBAllen actually calls Joker Joker. Most people who played P5 know him only as Joker, Ren isn't in the main game, only spinoffs that aren't even out in the west yet.

If random non-gaming mums are your barometer, then there are only six or seven mainstream games out there.

Let's put it another way: Persona is now bigger than Metroid. Hell it's easily the third biggest JRPG series now behind only FF and Pokmon which probably puts it at around five or six for all RPGs.

Ok now I'm trying to rally Hat Kid.

No seriously this is like the best 3D platformer since Banjo Tooie (granted I didn't play Galaxy and Odissey but Mario has always been inferior to Rare).

It's one of those games that is worth playing just for going around jumping over buildings due to how well designed the controls are.

And the levels themselves are so fun and creative. I player the Murder of the Owl Express a few days back and was amazed. Like a friend of mine made a mafia game from it and I am envious that he beat me to it. A mafia game from a single level of the game.

Spyro would win. While this site does have a fair share of PC games its dominated by Nintendo and somewhat Sony and cuphead is a Microsoft exclusive sadly

I'm surprised Spyro is doing this well. I pegged Chun-Li to have atleast 60% here since she's been one of the main stay SF characters since SF2. Spyro has come a long way.

These R1 pic matches are fuckin ass though, and having her beast legs in the pic might make up a couple percent points, maaaaybe.
