Inspired by a recent topic discussing both jobs! But which job should PAY MORE? Teachers are responsible for inspiring and teaching the next generation and it is a job which requires an education and only 9 months of work per year. Police are responsible for keeping people safe 12 months of the year and despite no 4 year degree + certification needed, they risk their lives every day. But which is more valuable to you?

Let's see what the people think.

Teachers have perks that add a lot of value so I'd probably say Police Officers should be paid more regardless of which one is more valuable to society or whatever.

Both are underpaid though.

This is not really a fair question because the range of what a police officer actually does and what s teacher does is like pretty drastic.

Safer work environment
Stable hours
Reliable holidays
3 months off

To name a few. Assuming you're qualified for both you'd be an absolute moron to be a police officer over a teacher unless you were paid more.

Safer than X how?

Stable hours is a silly thing to say given the majority of salaried jobs have stable hours.

Reliable holidays is actually forced holidays.
Salaried jobs have vacation time, but you can generally take it when you want.

And 2.5 months off is offset bg y working 50 hours a week, along with the hours you work during that time off.

Don't generalise. Some police officers are safer than some teachers.
I work about 46 weeks a year so your 3 months holiday is also wrong.
Do police officers not get vacations? I always assumed they did like most jobs.

It's too broad a field to ask who gets paid more. There are many roles within both jobs and salaries vary dramatically based on this.

It's not 3 month holidays. If you continue to push that point, you are being intentionally wrong.

Also, I worked construction briefly. While I can't imagine myself settling into such a career, it was way less work than teaching.
