they are saying it might be the worst loss to science and history in maybe a century or more. 90% of their stuff was destroyed. and they knew this was going to happen someday as far back as the 90's but the government kept cutting funding and would not renovate or help them relocate the stuff to a safer place. one of the losses was audio recordings of now totally extinct native brazilian tribe languages. those languages now GONE. the fire deleted their entire existence from the universe ...
