Thats the biggest load of crap. "Competetive pay" meaning if the fast food standard is X, mcdonalds will pay you X.
Which I wouldnt mind for other jobs in other industries. Engineer? competitive pay sounds good, at least you can assume(but do your homework) youre not getting hosed being hired for a below avg salary. But the FF standard is likely minimum wage or near it, so competitive pay doesnt mean anything special ... Copied to Clipboard!

McDonalds is one of the best places to work (locally). They're super chill, and because all the customers in my area are also super chill... like, people just hang out. Like, they'll still obey the corporate rules and not let customers hang out in the kitchen..., but other than that it's a very comfortable environment.

McDonald's seems like a pretty good place to work, even at my nearby location which is usually pretty busy, the employees seem pretty jovial. I'll probably apply there in the summer.

And, as far as low-end jobs go, you could probably make more working security, in a warehouse, or in manufacturing. As someone who works in the Canadian manufacturing sector, the rate of pay in a lot of factories here in Ontario is currently just a little above minimum wage. Full-time hours is the only thing that makes the pay better, but in a lot of places around here, someone is taking home about $1800 a month after taxes, and the average rent on an apartment in my city is about $1350 a month. --- "I'm the straightest guy on this board.
