Wasnt uncommon for people to lie about places they had worked or things they knew how to do. It was always really easy to see how skilled someone was in the kitchen though. One guy claimed he learned to make sushi in Japan, I guess thinking that making sushi rolls was really simple. On one of his training shifts we had him show us what he could do and it was obvious he had never prepared sushi even once in his life. Guy couldnt even figure out how to get the rice to stick.
