I had a coworker legit refuse to hang out with me because I went with an Alliance character as my first instead of Horde. And that a decade ago.

I had kids in my high school compsci class avoid my friends and I because we chose the other side.

It's silly to pretend this is a new thing. Some people just never grew up.

However:

Horde - leader who came out of left field who is basically an outsider who is doing questionable things even the oldest and most loyal are questioning.

Alliance - puts on as if they have the moral highground and maybe they do, but they are grossly incompetent.
That part between Anduin and co vs Sylvanas at the end of siege or Lorderon was such cringe.

WoW is a fantastic game, but it's far more fun to play with friends.

Plus they could have been on a PVP server so maybe he didn't have that option

i tried to get into WoW and played for a couple of hours but it was really boring :(

Used to play WoW a lot, primarily as Horde with more Forsaken alts than the other Horde races. Not that I didn't play Alliance, but it wasn't until they added Draenei because I was "meh" about playing the original races (especially Night Elves, bloody hated them since Warcraft 3).

Quit before Warlords dropped because the premise was *that* fucking stupid and I was already sick of dealing with Garrosh back in Cata, and skipped Legion because I'm apparently the only Warcraft fan in the world who doesn't want to ride Illidan's dick.

Might come back with Battle For, but if I do, I'm going full-tilt Alliance. At this point I'm so disappointed with the Horde that I don't even want to play as them anymore, and now I actually feel bad for the Night Elves, even that bitch Tyrande.

I had played Horde for the longest time (Goblin Warlock and Tauren Druid), however I went Alliance to get some of the achievements during WoD and holy shit... it was much more streamline and the quality of life was so much better. During questing, at least. Ever since then I've been Alliance only.

The only problem I have with both sides is that you either see 70% Blood Elves or 70% Human. This isn't just in WoW either, when I was playing EverQuest almost everybody I ran into was either a Human or High Elf.

I did the same thing, rolled alliance during WoD after only playing Horde for years and years. I was shocked with how much more I enjoyed the alliance cities and aesthetic, especially Stormwind.
