If you like Bush more and youre an avowed Democrat youre basically admitting you just care about having a president who at least wants to fit in with historical norms of being a pres. Has he started a war? No.

Has he gotten America attacked? No.

Has he declared martial law and installed a dictatorship? No.

Has he made bad choices for the economy? Potentially, but only time will tell that tale.

I am guessing very little has changed in the day to day lives of 99% of Americans. So to act like Trump is literally Hitler or that he's somehow completely destroyed the country and it will never, ever, EVER recover is silly.

Bush was a pretty innocuous President in the beginning. He didnt really get into the swing of things until his second term. Trump hasn't had enough time yet to see the true effects of his fuckery or just how far he will push things in his remaining time.

Honestly, I think history will soften some of the hatred against him later. No one will give a shit about his ice cream scoops when President Kanye is ushering us into a new golden age.

The point is, it actually matters very little what a sitting ruler of a country does during their term. Life goes on, the world goes on. You could prop up a mannequin in the oval office for all the difference it even makes. At the end of the day it's just another cog in the machine. Acting like the world is going to end and the species is going to go extinct in the next decade because of Trump is sad.

Especially because again, he has not started any new wars and has not noticeably infringed on human rights. He has not actively supported any country that has shown aggression or invaded another country ala the Allies prior to WWII. Crimea happened under Obama. Was he not also "soft on Russia?"

To use an apt comparison, it's like acting that Bush instating the Patriot Act was going to lead to 1984 in a few years. Nobody likes the idea of being spied on, but again, all these years later and very little has changed in the lives of 99% of people.

Iran/North Korea aren't immediately going to start blowing their nuke load because of Trump. Russia isn't going WWII Nazi Germany. The world isn't going to end as a result of US only emissions destroying the atmosphere. Lose your shit when he actually does something substantial like declare war on Iran.
