A Texas man has been arrested on federal child pornography charges after officials say they discovered a colossal cache of hard drives containing explicit material. At 6.30am on Tuesday, officers from the Collin Countys Sheriffs Office and the Plano Police Department executed a search warrant at the home on 39-year-old Richard Belden in the 1400 block of West McDermott. The search of the residence, where Belden lives with his wife, yielded multiple electronic devices containing 58 Terabytes of data related to child pornography, according to a press release from the sheriffs office. Officials have not disclosed the format of the sexually explicit material discovered in Beldens possession, but 58 Terabytes of memory could be used to store a whopping 7.5million digital photographs. Fifty-eight Terabytes also could fit up 29,000 hours of video, according to the tech blog LifeWire. It would take 3.3 years to watch all of that footage back-to-back 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

maybe they take shifts. one person sifts through it for an hour. then a new guy comes in. and nobody ever has to repeat. so each individual person only spends 1 hour total on the whole thing.

If you download HD videos, you can get a TB really fucking fast.

Then just assume they've been operating for more than a few years.

The entire Deadpool movie in 4K is 30GB, but it's only a couple hours long.
HD pictures can also take up a shit ton.
