they were going to get engaged but everything was called off because adam (his ex boyfriends name) didnt want him to go to space and this caused a fight and they broke up over it

Why must everything have to virtue signal? Politics and Lifestyle and etc included in entertainment is just wrong. It screams, "LOOK AT US, WE ARE PROGRESSIVE! WATCH OUR SHOW!!!" when it's a reboot of a original series that had nothing to do with those characteristics. I don't care if a character is straight, gay, bi or whatever. I don't care if a character is white, black, mexican or etc. But don't take a normally, straight character and turn him gay or bi for virtue. Or take a white character and turn them into a black woman just to virtue signal.

When a character is introduced as gay they're the token pandering homosexual.

When a character is introduced as regular person then eventually when they actually have a reason to talk about a significant other that happens to be the same gender it's still pandering.

At what point is a gay character allowed to exist without it being pandering?

The second one, but even then. My point is, does it have to be celebrated when it's in ever facet of every life? It's like me, celebrating a straight male coming out as straight... It's normal. Why is it celebrated and pandering, I now get TC. He's happy that a character of a TV show that he likes is gay, and they share the same lifestyle. That's fine. But I just think, there's too much virtue signaling going on in entertainment that it disturbs the story... That is all. Speaking of which; There's nothing wrong with being Gay, and no offense to TC. sadly i just learned the series will end soon
in augest the 7th season will air with 13 episodes
and then after that sometime next year they will air the 8th and final season with 13 episodes

so that means only 26 episodes of the show left
