i'm not proud of you. you could end up on the news having killed someone as you haven't payed attention on the road while texting and driving :(. just takes one second to change somebody's life in a bad way.

i can forgive TC though for going past a stop sign, we've all made that mistake before, even in the dead of night.

Far too lenient tbh. You didn't deserve any leeway over it. The stop signs exist to ensure you actually check it is safe. Not "assume" at a glance. They are in places where it is hard enough to check in the day, let alone at night.

A California roll is when you approach a stop sign, you slow down but you don't stop completely.
Everybody still has their right of way, so if someone approached a stop sign and started slowing down before you they still go first.

Basically, they are all yield signs. I have no idea if its legal, but cops never pull you over for it there.

My visibility is heightened. Its far easier to see other cars and basically as easy to see pedestrians when they are the only other thing on the road. Im the daytime there are hundreds of cars and constant joggers/bikers.

Why would the cops shoot me? Im not a criminal. I stopped, pulled over, and had a pleasant chat with a pleasant officer. He gave me a warning and I was on my way.

No man, you messed up. If you have a license then you agreed to follow the rules of the road. Simple as that, you broke them doesn't matter if "by an inch or a mile" you still broke them. You're lucky you got off with only a warning.

So what you would have wasted another 2-5 seconds coming to a stop but nah getting pulled over was surely less time consuming.

Check the first response. The car was turned off so there was no reason to assume its going to teleport into the middle of the street.
