Nah, the reason its taboo still exists.

150 years ago people would have been horrified to find out a woman owned a dildo, yet today very few people give a shit at all.

100 years ago people would have looked at you like a creep if you admitted to looking at porn, and the only ways to really acquire it were shady as fuck, yet today it's a multi-million dollar industry and is responsible for a majority share of Internet usage globally.

50 years ago you could be arrested for having gay sex, and people would harass you for even holding hands or kissing your gay partner in public.

There are very few sex-related taboos that exist for concrete, objective reasons, and are thus immune from changing over time. Incest might be the main one, but even that is becoming more normalized because of fetish porn, and is really only discouraged in cases where children might result.

It's entirely possible there may come a time in the future when pretty much everyone owns and uses sex robots, and most actual procreation and child-rearing winds up being something the government has to do because no one wants to engage in actual physical relationships with other people. The Internet has already placed us on a path that discourages actual human interaction in favor of digital communication, and there are plenty of younger people who have a much harder time dating or even interacting normally in social situations because of it (up to doing most of your shopping via website, or only going to fast food places with automated ordering via computer screen because they don't want to try and talk to a person to order).

If I could afford one I'd get one regardless of it being taboo or not.
