I set my alarm for 5am, hit snooze when it went off, then the next thing I know it's 6:15 and work is calling me and there's 6 minutes left on my snooze. it's only 9 minutes, so that means I hit it like 6 times without waking up.

I'm not sure if I've shut mine off without waking up or if it just shuts off on its own eventually, but I have completely slept through mine multiple times.

As mentioned, set multiple alarms. Also keep it out of arms reach so you actually have to get up if that's a problem.

I've never had a set an alarm and I only sleep about 4 hours a night

But if you do need an alarm, then set it away from you bed so you have to get up to hit the alarm/snooze

Most days I wake up a couple minutes before my alarm goes off anyway.

Ive got a separate alarm clock on the other side of my room. I have to get out of bed and hit a tiny button on the side (not the large one of the front) to turn it off. Its so loud i cant sleep through it. So even if i did sleep through my phone alarm ive got backups

And i have 2 alarms schedules on both my phone and physical alarm.

lol

if I have the day off sometimes I sleep for like 14 hours

I had a regular alarm clock before but I got used to that too and started sleeping through it. I'll have to use a different sound for my phone alarm now

A bit of advice, don't use your favorite song as your alarm.

I ruined 1 this way.

I mean I'm the same way, I always wake up before my alarm goes off. Do I want to get up? No. I have an 8-5 job during the week though so I got used to it a long time ago. Even on the weekends, sleeping in till 8 is late for me.

I downloaded an app a few years ago that makes you solve puzzles and math problems to snooze the alarm.

Apparently half-asleep me is a fucking genius because I still ended up sleeping in each day.

*wakes up before alarm*

*checks phone, there's still 5 - 10 minutes before it goes off*

*goes back to sleep*

Advice like this doesnt actually work, as its still possible to walk across the room and not actually wake up. Its also easy to just ignore it, especially for those of us who sleep through it anyway.

I set three separate alarms, all one minute apart.
I don't snooze anymore... but in the event that I wanted to, but accidentally turned the alarm off, I would still have two more.

So for example.

Shit, I've literally had the alarm go off and all that happens is the sound invades my dream where I try to turn it off but can't because it's not actually in my dream.
Not everyone can just jump right out of bed at the first ray of sunlight.

I'm with the people that said put the alarm far away from you. If I have my phone (alarm) within reaching distance of me I won't remember waking up to turn it off and I'll end up late.

I've found, for me, when I have to physically stand up, walk a couple steps and turn it off I am good.
