You trying to do gay stuff in LA or SF?

LA
Gay stuff is WeHo
Santa Monica is fun to check out
Hermosa Beach is where college bros hang out
Downtown LA is hipster area
Water is still cold in LA ocean, but beaches are nice

SF
Gay stuff is the Castro
Mexican food is the Mission
Union Square is shopping
Fisherman Wharf for seafood
WATCH YOUR STEP on sidewalk and metro (BART and Muni) for poop and needles
Golden Gate Park is nice
SF is light sweater weather usually

Everything on the map in SF is further away than it appears. You'll see something is a mile away in terms of walking distance, and it'll some somehow take you thirty minutes to walk there. Also, some of those hills are steeper than they appear.

I've not personally experienced this, but I've been reading a lot of stories of people getting randomly groped by handsy old dudes with no respect for people's personal space. None of these were situations where people felt threatened. Still, keep your wits about you.

I had my car and a few others parked near us broken into in San Fran. Right near Ghirardellis. So just be careful and don't park on the streets. Use the pay fenced in parking lots. High crime area as was admitted to us by the police. Maybe get on that huh Frisco PD. Useless dimwits.

Is there a reason for 101? It is really slow and traffic ridden. Some good scenery though if you really want to make the longer trip or stop along the way.

If you want to get from A-B I suggest leaving at midnight and taking I-5.

San Francisco is great? Planning on staying the city proper or branching out a bit? What kind of stuff you want to do?

we're driving the scenic route along the coast, so yeah we're taking a longer way for some good sights. it's supposed to be one of the best treks for a road trip

san fran is the more chilled out city for our trip, we don't have much planned so far

Awesome the views along that are great and definitely worth seeing. Just making sure that's what you wanted.

The weather will be hit or miss right now. It's about 27 degrees celsius but I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow it was 10 degrees.

The beaches aren't as nice as LA and have a strong undercurrent but can be nice on a warm day.

Depending on how long your staying Yosemite can be a day trip (if you have a car).

Muir woods is nearby and really cool.

If you can line it up I'd try and see a giants game. Don't know if you like baseball at all but even if not it's a beautiful stadium with some great views.

You can walk the Golden gate Bridge and get some great pictures.

My cousins were over from England a few months ago and really liked alcatraz. I'm kinda meh on it.

People like fisherman's warf. I find it pretty touristy and overpriced even by SF standards but it's someplace people will have expect you to have seen and it's definitely a nice walk if you're not planning on eating out or doing anything there.

The Mexican food is the best in the word and dont listen to the awful people in socal or Texas that think there shits the best.

My favorite bars are in the mission but there's some good places in the Richmond and sunset depending on where you're staying and what you like.

The Castro is the famous gay area and can be kinda out there and in your face but I like it. People tend to be nice and the booze is probably the cheapest youll find..

If you find yourself bored one night and I'm not working and you want to head about 15 minutes south of San francisco proper and stop by my local I'll buy you a beer.

If you let me know closer to your trip I'll try and come up with some restaurants to keep in mind.

Hope you have a great trip.

No one calls it San Fran.

September is the best time to visit, though, so good choice there.

Walking across the Golden Gate Bridge is a really touristy thing to do but pretty awesome nevertheless.

Highway 1/101 is a great way to see the coast of CA. If you just want to get there, take I-5. But if you have time to sightsee, 101 is the way to go.

i heard the weather is still decent in sept so i'm happy about that. and i heard it's good to have a sweater since it can get a bit nippy

we were going to do a day trip to yosemite but we're already paying for a lot of big excursions (grand canyon, napa and sonoma vineyards, universal studios, etc) so couldn't really afford it. maybe next time

we're going to see ny mets at la dodgers! first time seeing baseball and i don't even understand the sport haha

i'm not really into alcatraz but everyone else apart from me wants to go so ehhhh. i'd rather

cheers bro i appreciate the gesture. i'll remember to hit you up closer to the time
