no, part of the fun is the immersion of sharing equipment and having to leave some things behind

even if it breaks immersion that my backpack is carrying 500 tin cans

Nope. I'll go for the "can fast travel while encumbered" perk eventually, though.

I did in Oblivion, that was about it.

If anything, I don't like how much I'm allowed to carry in Skyrim/Fallout New Vegas/Fallout 4. To the point where I only allow myself to carry like 3 weapons on hand and the clothes on my back and the rest of my backpack is reserved for treasure/junk I can sell.

I find it stops me from becoming the richest man in the land by level 10.

I do in all the Bethesda games generally. I always start the first 10 hours or whatever vanilla but after a while it just gets so tedious.

I almost did it in Witcher 3 too but after they patched alchemy ingredient weight to almost nothing, it became far more managable so I left it.

I should install a mod like this because you dont really profit from tons of loot anyway. Its just annoying to have to put most of away and then dig it back up when crafting

No

If anything I'll use mods to make the weight restriction more severe

My recent playthrough of Skyrim I used a mod that basically limited it to whatever you could realistically fit on you IRL. So pretty much all you could carry would be armor, clothing, two weapons, arrows, and a handful of potions. If you wanted to carry more you'd have to craft pockets and backpacks and shit.

In my defence, when I play like this it isn't so that I can loot 500 armors and sell them all. By the time I switch this on I'm usually more than comfortable money wise, it's just I can be indecisive about what to keep for my character so it's more to reduce my stress level by not having to think about it.

Not for loot, but in Fallout 4 I always get a huge number of supply shipments from this cheat bunker mod I got so I don't have to scrounge around for building supplies for settlements. Thankfully they weight nothing.
