Board 8 > Community, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, or Parks & Rec?

Parks & Rec is up there on my list of shows I wish I could watch again for the first time.

Community S1-S3 is also fantastic but S4 was bad enough to make me drop the show and never come back.

The old episodes of Arrested Development are fantastic is well.

You really can't go wrong with any of those three, but I feel like Parks & Rec is the most consistently good show.

You're thinking of Always Sunny which is definitely about all of the characters sucking.

Community honestly just takes a bit to become the show it ends up being defined as but it does get there.

I think Community took about 6 or 7 episodes before I felt characters and the pacing of the show start getting into their stride? Season 1 is generally kind of an upward increase throughout, getting better as it goes along.

The cast of Community aren't shitty people at heart, but they very frequently act shitty to each other and especially people outside their group. That's the main driving force of the show. You have to give it some time for the characters to settle while also keeping in mind they'll continue to evolve. Some characters are almost unrecognizable from season to season.

Not liking Joel McHale is a bad sign, though. He's the glue that holds the show together, and while it's exaggerated early on as the show finds its legs, that never goes away.

The first episodes of Community aren't amazing by any stretch of the imagination. They're fine but somewhere around the middle of season 1 the show finds its footing and the Modern Warfare episode is typically viewed as the episode that solidified what Community is and is capable of.

And for what it's worth, the Russo brothers of Marvel fame were hired because of their direction of Community episodes.

This really is starting to pick up with McHale getting better/nicer. He was such an unlikable asshole for those first half dozen episodes.

Season 1 beaten.

Certainly a great show, but even though I like Jeff, the Jeff/Britta dynamic is...not there to me. I don't get why they have this thing going on other than "Sitcom Requirements".

S1 is good but bogged down in "soapy relationship stuff"

S2 probably the peak although S3 also delivers big time

I think I would say that S2 is the best season.

But S3 has some of the best episodes, specifically Remedial Chaos Theory.

30 Rock bombing here is a tragedy. By far the most hilariously consistent show ever made. Jack Donaghy is like the greatest comedic character made of all time.

Parks and Rec has bad first 2 seasons, and the final seasons is also weak. Community dies after S3. Arrested Development is pretty close to 30 Rock in Quality though.

Scrubs is #2 though. Happy Endings blows all of these out of the water.

I haven't seen AD season 5 yet, but overall I pretty much agree with this assessment.

I think 30 Rock is more consistent than AD and Community, but it never really hits the heights of those shows either.
