A person's race doesn't really factor in to me, and skin colors are just part of a person's appearance like hair color is. To me, saying "I don't date black people" sounds as silly as saying "I don't date people with black hair."

That said, there definitely are certain skin tones that I am more attracted to than others.

I don't know. I just always felt white girls are the best.

Though I've been rejected a shit ton on "I don't like/date black guys" though I consider myself African.

I would go as far as to say that's racist, but it does sting when you get rejected for a culture you're not a part of.

Now, people just not liking how black peeps look is fine though.

I'm many, many years past my "milky pale goth chick" phase. I used to be scared of the idea of dating a black girl because they were always the meanest to me back in high school, but that's not really indicative of real life.

It's not a factor for me.

I only like pale skinned women. Their race is irrelevant but given that pale skin is an absolute must it does mean that black girls are unlikely to ever be in my sights.

Yeah it makes it really not worth it. It would suck having to keep it private or deal with constant animosity and coldness. Really defeats the purpose of the relationship.

Take for instance, the fact that my father would have, no lie, either beat me within an inch of my life or outright killed me if I ever brought a black girl home. I grew up with tons of people, men and women, who faced similar threats from their families.

I'm lucky in that I live far enough away and essentially cut him out of my life, that it's a non-issue for me. Many people are not that lucky. They're stuck living at home with their folks for various reasons and being beholden to their bigotry.

Ugh that's awful. I have a relative that lives in southern Missouri who has had similar issues. He's had to break up with a girl because her dad "doesn't like the way they treat their women".
