When is it good to summon

At the beginning, summoning whenever to get a decent amount of good units for the early story is fine. It's best to do multiple summons at a time (up to 5 at once) because the price goes down (5>4>4>4>3) within the batch. But once you have a decent team to work with, it's best to save orbs to go for specific characters you want. If a banner comes along with 4 characters, but you only want 2 of them, you'd only pull orbs of those units' colors from that banner. If a banner doesn't interest you at all, don't pull from it beyond the free summon.

What else should i spend orbs on

Upgrading your castle to get an exp boost would be useful to an extent, but beyond that, I'd say only use orbs for summons.

Is black knight bundle good

Yes. It's a great deal, and right now it's the only way to get Black Knight in the game, since he was originally a reward from an event that's long gone. He may not be an amazing unit, but having a solid sword/armor unit like that early on, especially one with built-in Distant Counter, is a godsend for new players.

Oh yes. Yes they do.

A) there's multiple difficulty Levels for every map
B) every ten level jump in level increases difficulty, so level 40 maps are hard as balls at times.

There are extremely hard challenges in the game and even if you manage to overcome all of them, facing player teams in the Arena will always pose some kind of challenge.

The best time to summon in terms of getting the most bang for your orbs are on legendary banners.

They have better odds at pulling 5 stars and every 5 star pulled on the banner is guaranteed to be a focus unit. The focus units on these banners generally are the best and most sought after units in the game.

There won't be another one for a while though.

I generally don't only go for the best units. I like collecting the babes and just characters I like from the games.

It so happens though that a lot of the babes and fan favorite characters are also top tier units.

Oh God. I have a full team of badass five star units, except reinhardt, who is 4*, and aside from Lyn, outdamages every unit I have. He's a fucking beast.
