Good for you, I always thought people who bought guns for practical reason like hunting or self defense were just being delusional. Buy a gun because it looks cool and you'll get all the attention at the range. If you know the right people and have money to burn, convert it to full automatic and you'll have a semi concealable weapon that can be used to clear rooms, just in case Obama comes for our guns.

Here is a visual if it helps. The PS-90 on the left has a 16 barrel, while the AR-15 on the right has a 10 barrel, both shown with a blue line from chamber to barrel end. The longer barrel helps with accuracy and the velocity on the projectile. It does those things while allowing an overall shorter firearm.

but i'd bet most high speed wrecks are due to people wanting to mimic sports cars

although i'd bet drunk driving is more the cause

Well, no. Hes right. The P90 was designed as a weapon of war. Its literally made to kill people. Its supposed to be a semi-close quarters weapon (which is why spent cartridges shoot straight down instead of ejecting sideways) or a small footprint weapon that can be carried by like tank or maintenance crews. Thats why the long barrel at the end defeats the design purpose of the weapon. But this was definitely engineered as a weapon of war.

But it is literally a self-defense weapon. It was designed for troops that do not typically engage enemies directly and therefore do not need a long barreled weapon, if one at all. Its sole purpose was to be used in emergency self-defense scenarios.

Regardless, a gun is a gun. There's very little difference between whether a gun was designed for plinking targets or combat. It's silly to object to a gun because it was designed for war and not recreation.

I don't know that Colonel O'Neil would approve of civilian gun ownership ...
