Octopath Collab event coming mid September. Mostly hyped for this because makes the possibility of a Bravely Default realm very real (they teased that Bravely Default could get a collab too if this one goes well) though when I get around to Octopath Traveller I'll probably appreciate that too.

I'm kinda tempted to draw on the 0 banner. I feel like I'd need Cinque USB for the upcoming 5* magicite, but there's a lot of mediocre relics here.

I will at least wait until Realms on Parade. I just might get that Cinque USB there.

I finally got around to doing the Crystal Tower. This one was EZPZ... I think I like Crystal Tower now that I've accumulated enough relics for more strong teams. I have 4 instant heal USBs (Ovelia, Eiko, Selphie, and Deuce) which helps a lot. I forgot to bring hastega on one of my teams but it wasn't so bad.

i still only have 2 instant heal USBs (and one of them is Aeris's mediocre first USB) but honestly it's kinda too easy now. the first few were the most fun, when i didn't have any.

Yeah I liked it better when I only had like 5 good characters and had to spread em around. Now it's just a lot of team management for fairly easy battles.

i just realized, i don't think i did any magicites last month. RIP 5 mythril.

at least now my midgardsormr's are sub-30 with Bartz USB. got my 4th catastrophe on the 6th kill today to finish the weekly quest at the same time.

Ah shoot I wasn't aware that the Boys Are Back event closed early! I was gonna finish up the hard missions on Sunday but it's already gone. Oh well I'd rather have the crystals than the motes and orbs (though they would probably be more useful than more summoning crystals.)

Also the Nimbus CM sucked, he wasn't too hard but it was a major drag because he's omni resistant and all the Type-0 characters are elemental focused. Used King's super and spark offering to stack imperils, Nine used Cyclone Bolt and Lighting Dive, Ace used Vali and unfortunately I had Rem with Holy and faith and her damage was pitiful. I should have had her use Bahamuts.

Yeah I slacked off a bit. I only managed like 15 Magicite Kills and didn't do the 350 Seph fight nor did I do the 260 on the main dungeon. Well I'll see em again come renewals I guess.

i did the 350 Seph fight but not the CM. i didn't even know there was a 260 in the last dungeon update, i'm a bit behind there.

that 350 was actually pretty fun. took a few tries but it wasn't like, super frustrating. i think that was my first time using native wall from Tyro lol. since my RW was occupied doing the Tifa piercing strike+glint+Cloud USB combo to ignore all the other parts (Celes with ability doubled flare strikes used the other RW charge).

I didn't do the Seph 350 since the reward was just gil. I did get my 20 magicites in though for the mythril. Gonna have to run some again tomorrow I guess.

I usually run 6 magicites each Sunday, since XP daily is kinda worthless at this point, when you have enough eggs to get everyone to 99 if you want.

The 3 million aren't super important, but I don't have to worry about missing the 5 mythril.

when the weekly quests went from keystone rewards to gil i was just kinda like "oh i don't have to do this every week now" and it completely slipped my mind there were still mythril rewards which you basically have to do it about that much to get anyway.

i need to run Sunday daily to level my magicites. i feel like i'm way further behind on that than orbs or crystals.

I've gotten a 3* and a 4*. My girlfriend did her first one today (since the update) and got a 5*. I think it was Reno's SSB, but still, it was free lol

i've gotten one 5* and four 2*s. which is weird, because 2*s were the one rarity that didn't change probability. 3* and 4* had the biggest changes.

I got a *4 today but the rest were 2*'s and 3*'s since the daily draw update.

I managed to clear the Corridor of Trials with a poverty lightning team of Alphinaud, OK, Mog, Rosa and... Matoya. Well looks like that USB I got for her last RoP actually came in handy since I have no actual lightning dedicated mage USBs.

Hoo boy I was pretty tempted by the lightning pick up banner, but I'm saving up for Fest Banner 1 since there's two chains and lightning is probably my weakest element both physical and magical.

Yeah the fest Lightning banner definitely looks better to me. I'm not sure if I'll pull there though since I really need to save for the Earth banner and I want to draw on the Quinoa banner. I already have both gen-1 Lightning chains too (but I'd really like to get Shantotto's other stuff).

I hear it's pretty decent for the 5* Wind magicite, but it doesn't seem all that great to me.

Also it's good for the upcoming T-0 Torment, and ice mages in general are pretty rare.

Other than that she's pretty much a poor man's Ysayle with breaks instead of a chase and infusion. She also can wrath/lifesiphon/shellga/protectga for what that's worth.

Seven's in game sprite is basically palette swapped Lightning when you look at her which is kinda perfect cause she kinda looks like palette swapped Lightning in her game too

And yeah I definitely wouldn't count Yuna. I'd sooner count Rydia than Yuna due to a bunch of her stuff being Water/Holy/Earth typed and having better summon damage tools than Yuna.

Fusoya is borderline too just because he doesn't really have enough tools of any element to really feel typed (or anything) yet. He has a burst big deal. At least Raines's record dive references holy and he has a Holy/Dark Ultra.

you could argue Yuna/Fusoya aren't good enough but they're clearly attempts at being holy mages and could become viable in the future. they both have holy as their only possible infusion, Yuna's USB chasers are wind/holy only.

Yuna's en-holy is on an ancient unique relic, that I think might have only be featured once.
I thought you were counting her because her chase is Wind/Holy/NE, but then Matoya also chases with Fire/Lightning/Ice.

Yuna I don't really think so. She's received plenty of things since getting her one Holy/Wind Ultra, hasn't ever gone back. Honestly would see her more likely to go down the path of Wind harder if they were to type her just because Wind has less mages than Holy. But I honestly don't really see her branching out of the healer role much. Not enough to be better than Rydia who has it as her distant third element in any case. There's actually more Earth mages in Japan than Ice right now though. Rinoa, Enna Kros, Maria, Emperor, Tellah, Rude, Red XIII (well he has the magic chain at least) Onion Knight and Krile recently got earth relics.

I still count Raines as a holy mage too since his OSB/USB are also holy elemental, and he has wrath to juggle them (and let's be frank here, how often does anyone else use anything besides wrath or Memento Mori on Raines.)

i mean Vivi/Palom are better at their off elements than non-AOSB mages are in their main element, so if you wanna go that route then yes, there are fewer holy mages <_<

Rude's not even that bad considering he doesn't have a USB and Legend Dive yet. His ability set is really good (white 4*, lifesiphon, monk *6) And besides if you want to argue magicite viability Ixion is so frail with an achilles heel in magic that earth infusion + Chain Stonja/Meltdown is enough to contribute to a sub30 team. And Rude does get a earth damage boost on his Warmage sphere.

Really the main thing going against him is that FF7 is a rare realm now and he's a c-list character so it's going to be a while before he sees his Legend Dive and USB.

For the 240 and 280 FF 7 torment, is it worth it to just leave the tentacles alone if going for sub 30? I know they have their confuse move at turn 8, but does 30 seconds happen before that?

I have pretty decent damage output in FF7 and needed to kill the tentacles in the 280 (22s kill btw) to not be killed by their added damage. In 240 I just ignored them.

If you have decent healing you may be able to get by without messing with them if you have a lot of damage.

I only have Aeris BSB unfortunately. So will likely ignore them in 240, and have to kill them in 280

If you have Cloud's USB1 you can kill both tentacles with Tornado Strike under a chain (Zack or the series one Dr. Mog provides.) Also this was the first torment I went off realm since Aerith's BSB1 is way too slow to deal with all the aoes Jenova spams, I brought Rosa instead and it was much easier with wrathable magic blinks.

Also late on this on Matoya but she's more of a grey area since her chases only trigger after a weakness, and she falls behind dedicated mages due to her lack of infusion (her LMR seems to make her better but that's only for ice/lightning) I don't really consider her a real ice/fire/lightning mage more of a jack of trades, master of none. Even though I am guilty of using her as lightning mage out of poverty.

Also I just remembered I had Reno's USB all this time and should have used him over Matoya. D'oh.
