I just don't get it. I watch 5 minutes of 1 episode and I felt like I was torturing myself. I don't get the appeal AT ALL.

Ironically the 80's cartoon was more hardcore as far as little girls shows go. For some reason bronies hate anything that's not the 2010 show. Go figure

Tbh, its legitimately not a bad show at all. They actually have pretty good lessons and themes. And the humor is actually pretty good.

Tbh, its no different than PowerPuff Girls.

The fanbase gives it a bad rep though.

I stopped watching after the communist town, but still.

all iv seen was the EG movies when i got tricked into babysitting.

and a few episodes of the show. its not the worst thing out there and it was either that or spongebob. which i hate with a burning pashion.

the only issue people have is that its a cartoon for girls which honestly just makes the complainers come across as more childish and immature than the adults watching the cartoon

I never would have really known wtf it was aside from just a cartoon not for me.... but the fact that "bronies" are a thing, and are some of the weirdest fucking people on gaemfaqs has made it to where you can't unknow it, sadly. I don't think I've seen a single person with a MLP avatar/name that wasn't..... strange.

yea. I remember the old show cause my sister watched it. the modern show is even more childish than that was. I think I remember the old show having a villain that wanted to destroy the world or something.

In the old show, the bad guys either befriended the ponies or got killed.
Meanwhile in the boys cartoons, nobody died.

The fad is dying out, and the very few MLP posters that are left here are contained to one topic and not bothering anyone on CE. The only time any attention ever gets drawn to them is when someone makes one of these "why do people like this?" topics that are always just a rehash of the previous 15,497 times we've had this discussion.

It's a coping mechanism. Regaining something that was lost in their childhood. That's my guess anyway.

The sexual stuff is probably just an extension of that. If something feeds your emotional needs then it's only human to try to fulfill your other needs through it as well.
