I used to act back in highschool and earlier, but not so much nowadays. A friend of mine who runs the sound tech asked me to help backstage because they couldn't seem to find anyone else. I'd definitely be happy to keep helping them though, theatre people are fun

My cousin is pregnant with twins and recently on her 18 week check up they found an anomaly.

The one twin was taking all the fluid from the other twin.

Twin transfusion it is called.

She had to have an emergency operation. To try and sever the vessel between them and to see if they could get them both to formulate their own fluid separately. Only 6 hospitals in the United States even do this operation.

Apparently it the operation was successful this morning and despite an 85% chance to save one or a 63% chance to save both, they were indeed able to save both babies without complications.

I'm not really part of the inner circle here, but I say stuff from time to time.

Let's see... finished my master's last month, put in for a promotion at work. Waiting on that.

I'm 40 and living with my parents. I'm setting aside money so I can finally move out, put a down payment on something. I've got... well, not enough. It'll be a while yet.

I saw someone at work I don't know. She had the most amazing, piercing, pale blue eyes I think I've ever seen. Smart move is to not find her because I've creeped out literally every woman I've ever shown an interest in, but those eyes, man.

I think that's it.

Thats really cool, finding your academic success and pushing to new places in life is great at any age

Nothing much really.

I signed divorce papers last week but we had split amicably and are still friends. We had already been seperated for like 2 years.

I'm also actively househunting even though my lease doesn't expire until March next year. I wish house prices were like 20-30% cheaper though, irritates my soul how much prices have soared here in the last few years. I also have to get somewhere that's easily rentable too as long-term I think I'd rather be out in the countryside with land and views rather than Orlando. That's years down the line though, my job ties me to Orlando right now.

I applied for an insane (government) job two months ago, got notified I was referred to the next step, didnt hear anything.

Contacted the HR, the position is still unfilled, they havent even begun interviews yet.

People werent lying when they said this shit takes forever!

In the meantime, I went ahead and applied for 3 more jobs, because Im about to graduate school next month, and when Im done with that Im going to lose my GI Bill housing allowance.

I just found out that my fwb discovered a cyst in her 2nd ovary. So, shes on the meds and says she might have to remove that one too (her first is already gone). Now she's all psychologically warped about how the universe just wont let her have a kid.

And i cant even say how frustrating it is that im losing an fwb cos it makes me sound like a dick.

Public transportation blows. Two weeks ago I waited 20 minutes at the wrong bus stop because someone decided it would be a good idea to name two bus stops the exact same name but very close together. Then I had to wait 20 minutes for the next bus because I missed it.

Then last week the train was delayed by an hour. Two weeks in a row my commute home after playing basketball was extended by an extra hour :(

Not the you losing a fwb so much but not being able to have a kid. Really sad

Oh its not for sure yet. They detected a cyst and shes on meds right now so its basically playing the waiting game. We don't know if it's benign or not yet. But if its the latter, that's it the 2nd ovary's gotta go.

Her first one was a Tetranoma, they pulled it out and it was the size of a baby boy's head. This was 2 years ago.

My friend's staying strong, but she could lose it any moment.

Just "first world problems" for me right now. Dissatisfaction with my job that I'm sure many would die to have (salary/benefits, at least). Bored with waiting for the next big thing to happen. Today I should have called off work because I feel ill but I didn't.

But my life is totally fine. Makes me wonder if I'll ever be happy with what I have
