"White privilege" is used to justify policies / programs that push those of other races directly into higher-level roles, without them working their way up from the lower ones. The end result being, due to that lack of experience, they don't know how to properly handle that role, do a poor job, and everyone thinks "oh those minorities are just useless" - when in fact it's not that they're useless; it's that they were never given a chance to gain the needed experience.

This is how real systemic racism operates these days. Subtle, not noticable out of context, and almost invariably under the guise of "fighting racism" rather than perpetuating it. And, more often than not, it comes from the side that invariably claims they're "anti-racist" and will cry "racism" any time their racism-perpetuating policies are questioned or opposed.

In this topic I agree that male privilege is a myth most because it's easy for women to get somewhere decent in life because a lot of men do the hiring and want sex from them. If you're good looking, especially, life will be easy for a woman. Looks don't really come in handy as a man.

White privilege definitely isn't a myth but I think its effect is shrinking because of the job market / recession.

I already cautioned that the video was contrived but your reaction LOL. Do you know why most of those white people were in the front? They all started in the beginning, but the guy listed off privileges, and if you got one of them, you got to take two steps forward each time. You saw very little black people in the middle and front because they didn't enjoy those privileges.

A proper critique would've been "they cherry picked some stuff" which is fair. But if you don't think they can't find priviledges that white people enjoy to get to the front of that line, then you are delusional.

There are not under qualified people being hired to do jobs...the only instance that I can think of this happening off the top of my head is teachers without teacher certifications in the sorts of bad school districts you see in the movies with the substitute teacher that fixes everything.

Proving white privilege is real is easy af. First, it's merely a generalization of white people. It does not mean there aren't white people with bad luck too. It just means white people in general, have it easier. I mean, do you really think that all races are equal. Exactly equal? Think of how many more years white families had to acquire wealth, own a home, and pass it down to their kids or invest in a business and keep it going, etc. Time is valuable...and it's real...it's also true that people tend to aggregate with others of the same race. And if you are part of the race that makes up 60% of the population, congratulations, you more than likely will have a much larger and useful social network.

It's not rocket science. It's humility. Admit that white people have an advantage (GENERALLY. Do you know what this means?). It doesn't mean you have to be successful. I think I'm smart af. White privilege originated in the Jim Crow days when racism was running rampant and was used to comfort white people in shitty times so they didnt have meltdowns about being a finanacially well off as recently freed slaves. Privileges like being able to go to certain restaurants, drink from certain water fountains, and take the front seats in the bus.

Now days its used to stir up racial tension and deflect blame to white people as a whole and chalk it up as they have it easier, thats why they are ahead. I would be where they are or better off if I had the privileges they do. As if every or even the majority of white people have it easy.
