No it wouldn't because the person wouldn't have bought it either way. So, by your logic, "not buying the product" generates the same loss as "pirating the product". In both cases, the content owner is down $50, that they wouldn't have received if either situation was reversed. The person who didn't torrent it, nor buy it, has caused the balance to be $10000 instead of $10050.
