I typically plan ahead, as I usually have to pull something out of the freezer to cook. If I don't plan ahead, it often means I'll be eating fast food.

Though it's tougher to resist the allure of fast food right now since I'm away for work and they're footing all my bills. But I'm being a responsible human being and eating proper food I cooked.

I will say that here in America, quarter chickens are amazingly cheap. 5 quarter chickens for $4? Love it.

Chicken breasts are quite a bit more expensive than they are in Canada though for some reason. Like 30-40% more expensive once adjusting for the difference in currency.

Most of this week is my usual summer dinner: Spinach salad with cherry tomatoes, avocado, and some type of protein (this week I grilled up a tri-tip steak and split it across 5 meals). Wednesday nights I usually get take-out or fast food. This week I am thinking about trying chick-fil-a, the lines since it opened up a few months ago have been insane and I didn't want to sit in my car for an hour+ to get food. If they have calmed down a bit, I'll give it a try. Otherwise I will probably just get a ham sub from my favorite deli.

Green onion cakes and gyoza were from the farmers market but I suggest the Martin Yan recipe for the cakes. It's similar

The vegetable dish was just vegetables (and some soy strips) cooked to perfection then tossed in a sauce with brown sugar, rice vinegar, sambal oelek, miso paste, and sesame oil. It's light but slightly sweet and tart while being hot and so good
