I actually remember this quite clearly. I was at work. I worked in a call center at the time and I remember I was speaking to a customer who was in New York. They told me they saw a trail of smoke in the sky off in the distance, but at the time, neither of us knew what was happening. Who would have ever thought it would turn out to be a terrorist attack?

I was in 6th grade. We had just switched with the other 6th grade classroom to do our math and spelling. Not long after that, the secretary(or counselor?) of the school walked in and told us to turn on the TV. I had bad eyesight and was furthest away from TV. So I really couldn't tell what was going on. I thought there was some sort of temple on fire. I had never heard of the World Trade Center at that point. One female student was crying because she apparently had a relative that worked there. They ended being fine though.

We did pretty much nothing the rest of the day except watch ABC news and have a long recess. Then me and the family watched the coverage all day and Bush's Oval Office address in the evening. My parents didn't let me go to school the next day and that was that.

Freshman year of high school. I didn't even know about the attack since I never watched TV in the morning back in those days. It wasn't until later when they gathered us all in the gym and brought in these motivational speakers that were here out of sheer coincidence, or brought in at the last moment. I was never any clear about that.

I was in 5th grade. Many students were getting picked up from school early with many whose parents were crying. I later found out 8 students from my class had family members who died that day and the parents or people picking them up were crying because they knew something was wrong. By the end of the school day my home room class only had 3 students including myself out of 30 left.

I'm surprised so many other people here had TV's in classrooms that could just be turned on at any time. Only way we could view TV in my class is with one getting wheeled in.

Wasnt even in school yet but I remember flipping through the channels and thatd be all I saw, my babysitter and her family were worrying about the Sears Tower being next. Everyone at the elementary school a street away was evacuated and sent back home. My mom got off of work and picked us up a lot sooner than usual, said she just clocked in, was huddled up in an office for an hour, then everyone went home.

I just wanted to watch cartoons and play video games.

I was 27 and in college. I didn't have classes that day, so I slept in. My friend woke me with a phone call after the reports on everything that got hit. I said to him, "is it as bad as it sounds?" Because to me, in my sleepy state, it sounded impossible, like something out of a comic book. He said go turn on the TV. And there it was. Watched the news for weeks after that. I did go to class the next day. My Astronomy prof. gave a brief statement about don't be scared because that's what they way, the terrorists. My Philosophy prof. asked us to take a moment of silence before class began, then we went on with the lesson. And my English prof. put up the number to red cross on the board and we had an open, honest, and frank discussion about what happened and how we felt.

Probably is true. When I first started coming here in 2002 there were a couple of people over 50. This one guy, I don't remember his handle exactly, pink something, he was definitely in his 50s and was dying of a terminal disease.

Woke up and on my way to class heard my roommates talking about a plane crash. Didn't take it too seriously and went to class. A classmate heard about the crash and wanted to know what happened. Me not knowing how bad the situation was mentioned that a plane crashed into the WTC(I was thinking it was one of those 2/3 passenger planes). Another classmate mentioned that someone intentionally flew a plane into the WTC and one tower fell, another let us know that both fell.

At this point I start freaking out, I knew my mom should be alright but was worried about two of my aunts that worked in the area. Wasn't until 630-7pm that I found out that everyone was ok.

Still thankful friends/family weren't hurt, and for friends that helped me remember the lives lost that night.
