They are allowed. It's their house. They aren't obligated to house their son after 18 by law. So they should have done eviction paperwork/whatever that entails.

It's not hard to imagine

Edit to clarify: I wasn't kicked out I naturally left and my 24 y/o sister still lives at home, so this wasn't a post made out of bitterness. My point is that it's not hard to imagine that different parents have different parenting styles

Worth mentioning they asked him multiple times to move out and he was contributing no rent or anything towards utilities. They were well within their right to ask him to move out. Hes a grown-ass man.

I wasn't kicked out but after 18 they said pay rent, and I said if I'm renting I'm going where my rules are law instead of yours. So I moved out.

I was better off, in my case, anyway. :)

LOL at trying to blame the parents for wanting him out at this point in his life.

Dude is a grown man, 30 years old. He's had 12 years to figure out how to adult. He wasn't contributing to the household. He's literally a leech and nothing more. If he were actually doing anything with his life it would be different, but it's not the case. Dude needs to stop being babied.

Yet people fight against assisted suicide or suicide in general.

People are forcefully birthed into the world.
People are forcefully assimilated into the educational system.
People are forcefully expected to gain, hold, and be heavily active in a job.
People expect you to be fully dependent at the age of 18, straight out of high school.

But you want to kill yourself? Ehhh..... you have a lot to live for!

I'm no suicidal, but it seems stupid because people don't choose to live these lives. If they want out, let them out.

Look I hate capitalism as much as the next person but humans used to have to hunt and gather just to survive. Many would die doing these everyday activities. Is it really too much to ask to spend half your day five days a week safely doing something socially productive in exchange for shelter and sustenance? Life owes you nothing.

No its going to make people deal with the real world You get a roommate, you get more experience, you level up, it's not a hard concept to grasp. It's crazy how many people on this board just expect to go from living with mom and dad to buying a house all while complaining about how they don't make enough money at their retail job.

The parents got fed up with their 30 year old son being jobless and contributing nothing to the house and no longer were willing to provide him a free place to stay and after he faillled to move out after being asked several times escalated it to court.

This does not mean there's now a law that says you have to move out of your parent's house by 30. As long as your parent's are fine with still housing you in your 30s you won't have to move out.

It sounds like the parents kicked him out because he was a shit stain waste of life that just did drugs and ranted about alt-right conspiracy bullshit all day with no job and no plans to ever get one.

If he actually had his shit together and had a stable job the parents probably would have let him stay.

This. If he had some type of stable job and contributed a fixed amount of rent especially, Im guessing he couldve stayed. Kind of the new norm anyway in places like Cali.
