Yes, I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't seen it yet...

How does it compare to the first two? Avengers 1 and 2 are my two favorite MCU movies (with Guardians of the Galaxy slowly trying to steal the second spot)

I think it's mainly because I love Joss Whedon, and I'm afraid the Russo Bros will favor action over character development (which is what I loved most about the first 2 Avengers)....

So, am I right in thinking it cares more about action than the characters?

Infinity War >> Avengers 1 >> Avengers 2

Yes it focuses more on action than the characters. Keep in mind that Thanos is the main character, and the only one who really gets any development, and you'll enjoy it more.

It focuses more on that because it's already just over 2.5 hours long and this is only part 1 of the 2 part movie. If they had time for more character development we could easily see this movie hitting 3+ hours. While that may fly for a fantasy epic like Lord of the Rings I think a lot of people would have been a bit frustrated with a 3+ hour version of Infinity War.

They developed all these characters for the most part in their own movies and/or previous team up movies in the case of a character like say Vision.

It's less focused than Avengers 1 which means it can feel sloppy and disconnected at times but the execution of individual parts feels better. It's better than 2.

It's arguably the best MCU movie so far.

This film has by far the best villain of any marvel movie, a couple were decent but he is the most memorable and just very enjoyable to watch in action.

Vision and Scarlet Witch having previously only been bit players feels like a major hurdle that this film didn't quite overcome but I'm not sure how this film could have avoided that other than rewriting AoU via time travel.

Lots of good parts to this movie. Guardian 1 was my favorite, and inifity wars ....may topple it. I won't know till I watch it more then once.

Guardians is still a blast even for the third time I watched it.

Shock factor is a big part of infinity though.....so...it may not be as enjoyable the second/third time.

Time will tell.

But yeah, it's good.

Is it really good? Or just entertaining good? I remember when Cival War came out people were telling me that it was the greatest movie yet, then I watched it and I thought it was entertaining enough to keep me interested, but it wasnt really good or as awesome as some people made it out to be.

I finally found 2 other people who totally hated Black panther btw. So nice it wasn't just me.

Anyway, I'd say it falls into the really good range for sure. I consider many marvel moves to just be entertaining good (and DC), like Justice leage, Spiderman homecoming to some extent, Dr. Strange etc.

I thought Wonder woman was really good though. Gardians was really good (the first one), and Infinity is in that range as well.

Any movie i'll watch more then once, for me at least, is really good.....and really rare actually.

My three favorite MCU movies are GotG, Black panther, and infinity war. Not sure which of those three I like the most

Well its a tough scenario they likely thought Vision didn't deserve his own movie, but he is a vital player in the Infinity War saga. Same with Scarlet Witch, I mean at least we saw them in action in previous movies like Age of Ultron.

Avengers > Infinity War >>>> Age of Ultron

The only reason I give the original the edge is because it was so fresh and groundbreaking for its time. IW is still a really great movie (to me) but some of the punch that the first Avengers had is lacking in IW. It may be due to the total length of the movie and how much is going on though. I don't mind episodic releases, but even ignoring that fact, it still feels quite rushed in some parts.

AoU was atrocious though but I won't get into that one.

Vision and Scarlett Wotch were major players even in Civil War. In fact, next to Iron Man and Cap, they were the 2 most developed characters in that movie. (maybe Black Panther as well)

It's better than both. Avengers 1 is probably the most overrated MCU movie, it's a midtier MCU movie. It only looks so good because it was before Captain America: The Winter Soldier raised the bar.

Probably not much different for me. I enjoyed them at the theaters, but they felt unwatchable once I could watch them at home. I don't think IW will be any different, maybe a little better just because of all the other heroes and especially the GOTG.

I finished watching it last night. I thought it was alright, kept me entertained, made me laugh a few times, gave me the feels a couple times. 8/10 solid movie.

That being said to me its hugely overhyped. Lets hope part two makes it complete.

(Talking about Age of Ultron lmfao)

Yeah IW > 1 > 2 is the only correct order (though I personally don't get the hate-boner people have for 2)

Avengers 1 > Infinity War > Age of Ultron.

All three movies are in my top-5 MCU movies, though. And Infinity War is by far the most epic in the series, and has the best villain by a long shot.

Main reason I put A1 over IW is that I feel it has better pacing and gives pretty much every character a place to shine (which is of course easier with the smaller cast). Plus I think Joss Whedon's style works well for that kind of thing. Infinity War did do a great job balancing all that, considering, though. I did feel that Bucky and Cap deserved more screen time.
