Nah it's really not very good. Better than X:Men: The Last Stand I suppose. MCU wise maybe better than Iron Man 2 and Thor: The Dark World but that's about it.

It's better than Last Stand, at least - I never in my life want to revisit Last Stand, but there's plenty of parts in Apocalypse that I'd like to see again, like the Quicksilver scene and Pookie's speech.

The thing that bugged me the most about the movie was the total lack of consequence; the mansion gets Lego'd back together and Charles is perfectly chummy with Erik after Erik laid waste to the planet and murdered thousands of people with his magnetic tantrum. The McAvoy / Fassbender dynamic has been the highlight of the rebooted movies, but honestly this takes a lot of steam out of it going forward, should the actors continue reprising the roles; what can Charles possibly call him on in the future if he's going to let that slide?

i liked it quite a bit. It fell into "big dumb comic book movie" territory plenty of times, but I like that. It wasn't great or anything but I had fun at the theater. In the upper 1/3 of X-Men movies at least.

The sentinels are still the coolest X-Men villains, though.

Apoc was pretty good. DOFP was surprisingly great and the Sentinel designs didn't look as bad as the previews suggested. I'm still pissed that the X-3 Danger Room scene gave us a REAL Sentinel then we got this bullshit.

one of the funniest things in any movie is magneto causing massive insane destruction that with any logic kills hundreds of thousands, and in the end he faces absolutely no repercussion for it and professor X is just like " goodbye old friend!!!"
