I will say that black women are fighters. They're the ones most pressured by their parent(s) to focus on their studies and their career over a relationship, and as such they're more goal and career-oriented than other cultures. And becoming that kind of person pretty much requires you to maintain your autonomy and be occasionally confrontational.

This can turn off some men, who expect for women to go along with whatever he does. But black women simply aren't down for that because they have their own plans in mind.

Why do you guys feel so comfortable speaking like this about other people?

Even if you feel comfortable speaking on black women because you've been around them your whole life, it really feels odd to me how comfortable you are comparing them to every one else who you presumably don't have the same kind of relationships and histories with.

Also, this particular thing is kind of not true at all in my experience lol. Here in the south a lot of black women are very religious and family oriented -- plenty of the girls I went to high school with or in my girlfriend's family didn't get this memo.

But I also don't want to try to generalize like that because it makes one an asshole imo

I mean, it's not always going to be true but it's something to note.

It doesn't necessarily make them worse dating companions. It's just something to note.

I mean, even the black girl that I dated who wasn't confrontational at all, she was still very much goal/career-oriented and focused more of her attention on that than trying to find a guy to sweep her off her feet. And that's a value her family instilled in her.

White and other women are exactly the same, and they tend to be employed in better jobs and work more hours than black women. This is a stereotype and an excuse. Stop spreading it.

Black women's dating situation has nothing to do with work or education. ALL women who are educated have issues and all races of women are outpacing their men. What about the scores of 9-5 and part time, non college educated black women that are still single?

It comes from a bone study in African and Caucasian women, because bone density is a pretty important health issue. They didn't set out to do a study to to promote racism. It's scientifically backed up. There are biological differences. Another example of this is the rates of sickle cell anemia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sickle-cell_disease#Africa

Africa

Three-quarters of sickle-cell cases occur in Africa. A recent WHO report estimated that around 2% of newborns in Nigeria were affected by sickle cell anaemia, giving a total of 150,000 affected children born every year in Nigeria alone. The carrier frequency ranges between 10% and 40% across equatorial Africa, decreasing to 12% on the north African coast and <1% in South Africa.[77] There have been studies in Africa that show a significant decrease in infant mortality rate, ages 216 months, because of the sickle-cell trait. This happened in predominant areas of malarial cases.[78]
United States

The number of people with the disease in the United States is approximately 1 in 5,000, mostly affecting Americans of sub-Saharan African descent, according to the National Institutes of Health.[79] In the United States, about one out of 500 African-American children and one in every 36,000 Hispanic-American children have sickle-cell anaemia.[80] It is estimated that sickle-cell disease affects 90,000 Americans.[81] Most infants with SCD born in the United States are now identified by routine neonatal screening. As of 2016 all 50 states include screening for sickle cell disease as part of their newborn screen.[82] Patient advocates for sickle-cell disease have complained that it gets less government and private research funding than similar rare diseases like cystic fibrosis, with researcher Elliott Vichinsky saying this shows racial discrimination or the role of wealth in health care advocacy.[83]

if you control for family income, black women are slightly more likely to move up the economic ladder than white women are

https://tinyurl.com/y942nklk (sorry for that, its a vox article)

The researchers find that, conditional on their parents income, black women actually outperform white women in terms of individual earnings.

Let me be very clear: This does not mean there is no income gap between white and black women. There very much is. In 2016, white women working full time and all year earned $57,559 on average compared to $45,261 for black women working full time, according to Census data. This chart does not show that the gap has somehow been closed or that black women arent disadvantaged economically.

But it appears, based on this new analysis, that the massive gap between black and white womens salaries can be explained by differences in family background:

In other words, the fact that fewer black women grow up in affluent families accounts for the ongoing inequality between white and black womens wages. Black and white women born into equivalently wealthy families enjoy basically the same economic outcomes.

how this factors into this discussion is difficult to interpret though imo

I love black women but alot of them come from broken homes or poor households from my experience. The physical attraction is there, but so many have kids by 22, baby daddy drama and want to date shithead thugs its just not worth dealing with

So i guess its more of an income class thing, not a race thing

No there isn't. That study shows black women have the highest enrollment rate in many BS schools and online colleges. Rate of graduation, rate of degree attainment and field of study for black women is way worse than all other groups except Hispanics. White women are more than twice as likely to hold an advanced degree than a black women. Asian women are six times as likely to.

More Pew bullshit from questionable sources, single-year studies and words carefully arranged to paint whatever picture people want you to see.. First off, the yearly income for black women there is wrong. Second, how are black women more likely to move up economically proof of anything when white women START higher in the first place?

That's interesting. I remember an article from a couple years ago about how black women also represent the largest gender segment of university attendees of any racial group:
https://www.theroot.com/black-women-now-the-most-educated-group-in-us-1790855540

Note that the title of that article is not really accurate, but black women are going to college at the highest rates of women among any racial group and now make up a larger percentage of college students than their representation in the U.S. population.

And for what it's worth, this matches my personal experiences also. Very few black women I have ever encountered are like the the Tyler Perry stereotypes or the ones that get the attention in WSHH videos. I think this misrepresentation of them is a big part of why you see the preferences in the OP.

the point is, black women are greatly disliked by non-black men and by some black men. Overall, men don't like them. But people are saying things that supposedly make them undateable being due to education and work ethic...when these things don't make Asian women undateable even though the blow black women away in every metric of success and intelligence you can think of. And like I said, white and Asian women are far more likely to be employed than black women, and they are far more represented in jobs that demand lots of time and energy. They're more represented in higher education.

Black women struggle with dating because men don't like them, and if we want to discuss why then let's get away from excuses and stereotypes. But it's pointless, you guys don't give a flying fuck. You're just going to go "sad",. pretend to care and maybe throw black men under the bus since almost 90% of us dating black women isn't quite enough.

Does't matter if people "see" Asian women as that(they're not). IF they weren't then those relationships would fail and over time less people would bother with Asian women if they were looking only or mainly for docile women. Stop it already. Most of you do not like black women, and there's not a logical reason to it. I'm not vilifying you, you don't have to like them. No one does. Just keep it real, or shut up.

The arguments of some of you...just lol. Black women are too successful to date? GTFO.

So why do black men find black women so undesirable?

What proof is there of this claim? Black men are the only group looking to date black women. Okcupid shows black men rating black women higher than others except for one year pretty much...out of ten years. Most married and dating black men are doing so with black women and an extremely negligible amount of black men rule out black women.

I think we're deflecting here. As someone who grew up in a black neighborhood, all the black men I ever met liked black women the most. Even ones who were in relationships with non black women still liked and dated black women.

The pic in the OP explicitly shows that all races find black women the least desirable.

the point is, black women are greatly disliked by non-black men and by some black men. Overall, men don't like them. But people are saying things that supposedly make them undateable being due to education and work ethic...when these things don't make Asian women undateable

....because Asian women are still seen as docile.

Black women early on are taught to have thicker skin, by necessity. They have to grind harder than any other race out there just to achieve a similar level of success.

They need more white D. And provided that they look like Jada Fire or Rihanna or that black chick on The Flash *hnnnnghh*, I'll be very willing to offer my help.

even if the chart was indicative of the whole of society's view of black women, nowhere on the chart did it say that black women were undesirable

Yeah, undesirable isn't the right term.

Men just fetishize other races more.

That pic only measure response rates. That can be based on the profile itself or the personal interaction. Actual black men rating women...they prefer black women best....also from okcupid this chart shows black men rating black woman above most groups and showing no preference at all for non black women. They actually have the most fair and even approach of all men.

Plus black women are still women, they get more hits than men. How does this show that they are undesirable?

Does this take into account if they are black Americans, or black people from other places?

It doesn't, because those differences are largely invisible to white people, and only a select handful of them are even aware that this is a question one could ask.

I'd imagine it would depend on the "white" person that is being asked. The way that Afro-Americans are presented and viewed is pretty different to the way that continental Africans or Commonwealth are viewed.

I'm a black guy dating a black woman right now (I've been dating black women pretty exclusively since 2013 actually).

I've actually seen in every single black girl I've dated that there's something in them that makes them a grinder and fighter, moreso than with other girls I've dated.

She's studying to be an architectural engineer, so I'd actually say she fits the bill for being a black woman who's career/goal-oriented.

The notion that black men find black women undesirable is horse shit. I've only dated black women, mostly only attracted to black women. Not that I dont find women of other races that I find beautiful but more than likely I'll end up marrying a black woman.

And she is vastly outnumbered by married/attached white and Asian women in her classes and her future career so the "black womenz be grinding" stereotype is still bullshit.

You being black doesn't make your position any less stupid.

Eh, let these turbo virgins blame black men as always. Same as the black women who don't meet standards and want us to be the fall guy. It won't change anything in the end.

So lemme get this straight.

Your idea of countering a stereotype is by automatically assuming she's accomplishing less, even though you've never met her?

pretty interesting to look at those numbers imo -- black women have the strongest in-group preference among women, even slightly more than white women. but black men have the weakest in-group preference among men.

at least in the 2014 numbers. in a couple of years white women have stronger in-group preferences, but its close in general
