I remember the day Sonic was announced for Brawl and the mods had to all run towards those boards because it was a complete riot leaving CE to get away posting porn for hours before the smash rebellion calmed down and the mods returned to their posts.

First and foremost, the place is way deader. Most new games would have a few pages of topics and questions on the boards were answered within half an hour, typically.

The mods are different. They are certainly more SJWy, for lack of a better term, than they once were. All of my outrageous deletions have occurred over the past year. Back in the day they were mostly justified to some extent. I said some horrible things from time to time. Now it's the thought police and their "I misinterpreted what you said and became outraged, it's all your fault" BS...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dumping on all of them, I actually like the ones I've interacted with here for the most part. It's just frustrating to see the quality of service decline in such a "personal feelings" direction rather than being impartial judges.

Maybe different people piss off different mods? To elaborate, my deletions over the past year are for things that don't violate the ToS or are even political really, but simply triggered somebody who disagreed or misunderstood then just got all irrational. The message(s) they leave alongside them further back this up. It's clear they just don't like what I said, nothing deeper.

I've been here long enough to know how to get along within the system, but the subjectivity has gone way up and now it's hard to gauge. There have been some posts that even I feel were borderline that stay, then stuff like using "angst" in the proper context and getting modded because a guy said "usually people use it incorrectly and I assumed... blah blah blah" but a lead overturned it after his lesser teammates just refused to admit they were wrong because they didn't have to.
