Current Events > Give me any band/artist and I'll rate all their releases I've heard out of 10.

By releases I mean albums, live albums, EPs, demos, mixtapes, compilations, etc. Not songs.

Rules:

These ratings are not statements of the objective quality of the music, but purely just how much I enjoyed the music of the release. Outside factors do not apply and this has no barring on my respect for the music. I am not trying to offend anyone, as some of my opinions are controversial.

As a general rule of thumb, 1's, 2's, and 3's are releases that I really did not enjoy to any degree, 4's and 5's I didn't like as a whole and may have had parts I disliked, but still likely had aspects/songs I enjoyed, 6's and 7's I liked overall and come back to on occasion, even if they weren't a favorite, and 8's and above are releases I consider among my favorites and I jam them on a regular basis.

I will rate from any era, any genre, no matter how famous or obscure. I genuinely like a little bit of almost anything, although releases prior to the 1940s are difficult to judge as the album format had not quite been refined yet.

I will most likely not listen to a release I haven't heard before solely for this topic. Sorry.

True story I'd get Tom's diner stuck in my head for years but didn't remember the lyrics well enough to find it on google. So I spent years try to ask people who does the song that's like "da dada dada da da dada da da dada.... Man to pour my coffee but he only fills it halfway before I can even argue..... I have a word doc just with the names of everything I have listened to in full, which makes it easy for me to search names quickly and copypaste them, but the ratings are entirely off the top of my head, mostly gut feelings from my memory.

I definitely still prefer The Bends a bit over Pablo Honey, but I've always loved the majority of PH and never understood why its so detested. The songs have this great energy to them, the hooks are fantastic, some of the songs move me more emotionally than any of their post-Kid A stuff... it's simpler music than what they'd do later and is very "90s", but its just all around great, well-done rock music.
