It doesn't help that Roman's comebacks are just out of nowhere jumping punches and a so-so spear. There is just no excitement in anything this dude does. And then you wonder why the heels have to take so much of the match because he has no offensive moves to actually use in order to look at all impressive or get any shine at all. His shine is a near fall off of his finisher! That's all he's got!

I don't know why he hasn't been encouraged to develop any kind of offense at all that isn't something that literally anybody could do with no in-ring training.

I just looked this up because I felt like there was absolutely no way.

His last RAW match was the RAW 1000 (or whatever number it was) where he, Balor, and Rollins beat the Miztourage on March 16, and before that was his Gauntlet match where he lost to Seth Rollins on February 19.

I am blown away. Why has he not wrestled at all on RAW? While he's bitching and complaining about Brock Lesnar not showing up to do his job? I'm so lost at this.

He's got the drive-by, but it's not necessarily a very interesting move.

I like the way his punches look but they're just punches, can't build a match around them.

Superman Punch looks like total shit and really has no credibility with me.

Spear is over-used, not that interesting. When it suddenly ends a match, it's certainly no RKO out of nowhere. And it's way more predictable because he's always gotta be corner to corner or running between the ropes. You can tell when he's about to throw it out and there's no tension.

It was also main evented by Lesnar and Rollins where Lesnar won by DQ after one of the dumbest matches psychology-wise ever.

That's only 2 matches though....

I remember there was a while like a year or two ago where I would watch Roman Reigns matches more intently to see if he used any new moves because this has been an issue for so long.

His moves are Superman Punch, Spear, Drive-By, or a rare Samoan Drop (maybe 1/7 matches). Other than that he just has uppercuts which are nothing special at all and nothing particularly cool or unique. I just don't get why he hasn't stepped up to try new offensive moves or anything and is just content using what is possibly the most basic moveset ever.

Nah man, he does that ooooowah thing in the corner and he MUST reload his fist every time before doing a Superman Punch. Charisma out the ass dude.

And Hogan at least had the Hulking Up thing which is a unique spot before he did generic punching. It was something people could get behind. Roman just has spitting up into his beard and acting dead before suddenly reviving in a rest hold. And of course it's worth noting that this is a different time. What worked in the Hogan Era does not work now. People want substance. Roman provides none of that.
