Thoughts on it? I am to the end of the game where it asks you if you are sure if you wish to proceed. Did all missions and challenges. (Besides one in Syria I missed).

Overall the story was "ok", but the graphics on Lara itself were pretty great. She looks like a real person most of the time.

The attempted graphics in snow are either really good or really bad. The graphics are hit and miss across the board despite being relatively great. Draw distance apparently is an issue as the Greek fire would not show up on screen yet enemies would die to it at a certain range. Weird.

Overall the game is pretty awesome. I just do not know where they can keep going with it. You can only do jumps and barely makes it so many times. Lots of convenient things plot wise for Lara also. Multiple paths of entry and such could maybe benefit the games down the road. Though they would be more confusing then.

The puzzle to open the lost city was pretty amazing also.

I liked it. The new Tomb Raider games are pretty good for semi-serious escapism. They're often thought of as Uncharted-lite, but I think in some way these games are more fun. I'm definitely looking forward to the new one.

I feel like the combat is much better than uncharted. I feel like each is great tho (never played past uncharted 2).

not to derail the topic, but 4 and 2 are really the only good uncharteds.

I liked both 1 and 2. I heard 3 is a let down.

Woohoo beat the game. Ending was a tad anticlimactic.

Ive liked both TR1&2 more than UC1&2 (never played 3/4). TR has a meh plot and characterization, script is generic, but the combat is tight and satisfying, the graphics are great, the levels are designed well. Cant get enough of the bow either.

Plot is incredibly contrived but its the same with UC, its an action movie/game so its not intended to be flawless, but instead gives us an excuse to do the cool shit and see the cool places.

Its also the only series where Ive 100% both games. The sequel is an improvement and I think objectively better but I probably preferred the first more. Not sure. Ill do the same with the third most likely.

I got a little annoyed with RotTR. Every area was "here's a zillion places where you need X, Y, and Z that you don't have." Nothing against Metroidvanias, but it felt a bit forced here. And either I suck at stealth or it's just plain not very good in this. I dunno, I think mostly I just got frustrated being able to see stuff on the map and not collect it. I didn't really have this problem with the prequel.

Overall, I thought the 2013 Tomb Raider was way more memorable but Rise was a good time too.

I felt there was a surprising amount of areas you could use stealth. Especially when you upgrade your talents.
