The first one was okay. The worst was Election Year, mainly because it made the purgers look like senile fucks and the nonpurgers look normal. Like they were purposely differentiating between the two. The first couple of movies didnt do that.

yes the idea IS dumb. and they explore that in the series. the reason the purge exists is government corruption. it's not really a good idea and the movies show that. watch Election Year to see really the truth behind the purge.

I watch pretty much nothing but horror movies so I have probably seen a 1,000 worse than The Purge movies but for some reason I just can't get over the set up.

I never knew they revealed the reason for it, but I know it was implied in the first movie that it's not actually to reduce crime. It's population control with a little eugenics thrown in. The rich are the ones that can afford high-tech security and protection, so it's really just the poor eating each other.

Election Year is about a politician who wants to end the purge and she gets targeted on purge night to kill her off. the movie shows the elites that run the purge

it ends with her surviving and going on to become president I think. but she also gets the purge banned in the epilogue

Purge 1 is about a family in a house under attack

Purge 2 is about some people stuck out on the streets on purge night

Purge 3 is about a politician that wants to ban the purge, being attacked by assasins

purge 4 is a prequel about the origin of the purge

First movie was pretty good, other 2 only watchable if you just stop caring about story or are intoxicated

I think the opposite opinion. first one is just a standard horror movie. the sequels actually world build and have a true plot

that trailer doesn't really prove or disprove anything. it's quite possible there is going to be some kind of parody involving trump. for all you know, the character that decides to make it permanent might very well be the trump of purge.

I actually really loved Mark Duplass in the movies and can't wait for the third one.

I gave Creep a 5/10 and Creep 2 a 6.5/10.

killing off the huge population of homeless might be good economically but i seriously doubt it'll work past the first purge, or that it'll pull a country out of a huge recession like the purge did.
