It played itself a bit too seriously, like as if piloting giant robots was literally the only way these monsters could be defeated. Granted, there have been times where people have built giant robots to battle Godzilla, but that usually has some buildup to it. Despite the big change in tone from the first move it created, I really liked the plot with ~~Charlie as the bad guy.~~ It was comical in a good way. I do still prefer the imminent doom the first movie had though. Overall it wasn't as good as the first one but still worth watching. 6.5/10 --- You're such a boring characterless entity.
