What is the first magic card you all can remember seeing? For me, it's Paper Tiger. I was trading pokemon cards in elementary school, and some kid offered me it for a Horsea. I had no idea what magic was, but I took the trade because it looked cool and I didn't give a damn about horsea. I wouldn't be properly introduced to the game for another few years.

I remember simultaneously seeing Disintegrate, Fireball, and Aladdin's Ring. In some configuration of in play, in graveyard, and in hand. Art teacher liked him some fat burn spells and artifacts that did the things that fat burn spells do.

The first card I owned is more straightforward. A friend of mine gave me the classic.

This seems like it's going to be an odd Limited environment. I don't have any real ideas as to how it will play out, but I worry it will be bomb heavy. My instincts is green has the best commons, as Llanowar Elves and the 4/4 for 4 with kicker are both excellent, and a lot of solid others.

Edit: Oh, also, seems like historic is going to be hard to go too crazy on. The common artifacts are pretty mediocre, and that's what you really need to make historic a focus in Limited.

Yeah, my initial reaction was that it was going to be a bomb format as well, which I'm not usually a big fan of. The common removal doesn't look good enough, just glancing over things.

Edit: Actually, the removal in general doesn't look good enough, forget about rarity.

White - Blessed Light (C), Gideon's Reproach (C), Seal Away (U) - only Blessed Light is 'hard' removal, and it costs 5.
Blue - Blink of an Eye (C), In Bolas' Clutches (U) - Blink is only bounce, so I don't really count it, but that's all blue has.
Black - Cast Down (U), Eviscerate (C), Fungal Infection (C), Settle the Score (U), Vicious Offering (C) - Cast Down is going to be useless against most of the bombs, and Fungal Infection is barely anything. Still, the other three are a decent removal suite, so black is ok.
Red - Fiery Intervention (C), Fight with Fire (U), Goblin Barrage (U), Shivan Fire (C), Wizard's Lightning (U) - Red actually does have a lot of burn, but 3/5 is Sorcery speed.
Green - Ancient Animus (C) - yep.

I saw someone on another forum point out that the names of every previous Magic set that takes place on Dominaria is someone in the flavor text for this set.

I looked over the spoiler and found pretty much all of them, minus the Urza's sets, though I guess I wasn't looking specifically just for the words 'Saga', 'Legacy' and 'Destiny' so they might be there.

Edit: I guess some of them are in the name of the card instead of the flavor text.

It's been a real deck since its first showing, but it got really popular/good.

It's a pretty hilarious deck. I don't know if it's "healthy" but I love that it exists.

It has been for a while. I know a lot of people say Modern is in a healthy place, but all these turn 3 decks are going to be an issue. Jace and Bloodbraid both arent good enough because turn 4 is too late.

Jund is good, but it's not like it's dominating. It's an extremely wide format, but yeah there's a lot of fast decks.
