Yeah, I agree. It's the unknown part of it, and the strangeness of the 911 calls that give it a bit of a creepy factor. Also the fact that it's a cabin in the woods, small town, lots of wilderness. It sets up that horror film feel.

I suppose that's true, but that many calls over the duration of 3 days, after the company was out to check it out, and the box being relatively close to the road and definitely within view of a lot of people in the parking lot seems unlikely. Again, i'm no electrician, nor do I know anything about how phones and lines work, so it definitely could be the case.

Yeah see, I didn't know this and this may very well exist. The cabins are definitely isolated, each is on about two acres and are reasonably far from each other. You can see other cabins in the distance, but they aren't side by side or anything. With that in consideration, yeah this is an absolute possibility.

This is pretty basic stuff for someone with a know how of phone systems or even IT.

Depending on your phone system and the types of access your place or town has, it can be pretty easy to access and/or fake remotely. I've had access from hundreds of miles away from the comfort of my smartphone. So someone up close can have even more leeway.

Update?

Just got home from work, lol.

So get this. We left the phone entirely disconnected. Zero calls from Cabin 443 today, offices, front desk, etc. No calls. BUT. I received calls all night now from 434 436 and 445. Like 25 calls throughout the day from one of these now random cabins.

What also is extremely strange, on top of those cabins currently being vacant also, is I picked up a call from 445 just to listen to the static and see if I heard anything. The line put me on hold twice. The little screen said "Line held by 445" and a few moments later it would take me off hold, and then it did it again.

Is that even possible for a phone line to do if the hold button isn't physically on the phone it's connected to? We do not have a hold option on any of the phones in the cabins, just our office and front desk phones.

I'm assuming at this point there's something wrong with the box, but i'm puzzled by the hold thing now.

Right? It started at the beginning of my shift and I got the call twice from 434 and I second guessed myself thinking I had the rooms mixed up, so I called the front desk and verified with the girl working. I said "The cabin we are having the phone issue with is 433, right?" and she said "Yes, it was, but now 436 has been calling us all day." I didn't even know about 436 at this point.

The 2nd half of the night was mostly 445. I didn't even call them to ask if they were getting calls from more cabins at that point.

Some video evidence or the like. It always ends up being some blurry ass vid or just hard to see.

Who knows, if I didn't have experiences myself i'd likely have the same attitude as you about it. I'm a heavy skeptic about a lot of things, even now with stuff like this. I just can't rule out the possibility anymore because what myself, and others have experienced can't be explained. It doesn't automatically make it a ghost, it just makes it paranormal because what we consider normal doesn't provide logic for the encounter.

It falls in line with the room numbers, which are strange also. They start at 100 to 145 then 200 to 245. The other building is smaller, the rooms run from 300 to 324 then 400 to 424. Cabins start at 425 and run up to 457.

tbh, the weirdness just makes it spookier.
