At least you got to fight Alduin even if it wasn't exactly the most entertaining fight. For Oblivion you just walk around the burning Imperial City killing a couple Xivilai and Dremora while you completely ignore Dagon.

Because Martin is the protagonist, and that is his final boss/final level. The Player Character's final level is Paradise, and the final boss is Mankar Camoran. Leading Martin to the Dragonfires is like an epilogue for you.

Maybe it's because I'm a fanboy for the game, but FF9. Terra is an awesome final dungeon and Kuja was an awesome "final" boss. Of course Necron made no sense, but he did have an amazing design and was very fun to fight.
