He's either going to be dead soon, or he's going to be locked up for life. Whatever the case, he's not going to be able to kill innocent people again. Charles Manson was in prison for decades and all he did was act like a clown during interviews. He wasn't able to hurt anyone anymore. Same as this guy is going to be if he avoid the death penalty. This typically is most significant when the evidence against them amounts to things like DNA, fingerprints, etc. This isn't the case with this shooter. The evidence against him is insurmountable. DNA can wind up in all sorts of places and fingerprints aren't as reliable a means of identification that most people think they are. If there is even a miniscule chance the evidence is wrong death penalty is an extremely long procedure.
