If we think in terms of our current technology, definitely... But I'd say it's at least possible that there is some civilization out there that has figured out how to traverse such distances in a relatively short time with much more advanced technology.

The more rational explanation is that this is a bunch of balogna written by people who desperately need there to be some greater purpose to life

But sure, a highly advanced race of aliens visited a bunch of backwoods monkeys and showed them stuff instead of consuming the resources on this planet

Despite there being zero evidence of their presence on this planet or in the observable universe

Exactly. We are nowhere near the technology level to do so. But it just makes me wonder if others have found the ability to travel that far, know of our existence, and just choose not to communicate with us. Kind of like that South Park episode lol

Fusion Rockets can go to Alpha Centauri in 36 years.
A laser sail with a sail that is 320 km (200 miles) in diameter would need just over 12 years. Meanwhile, a sail measuring about 965 km (600 miles) in diameter would arrive in just under 9 years.
An antimatter engine would need 8 years.
The Alcubierre Warp Bubble can do it in less than 4 years.

If an advanced civilization could go to another star in just a couple of years, why wouldnt they?

One theory is that if anyone had that sort of technology, much of the universe would already be colonized by now.

It's been proposed that there could be a rate limiting measure in place where a species is wiped out (say by their own hand via nuclear war, resource drain/mismanagement, etc or natural causes) before becoming advanced enough for interstellar travel.

I'd say it makes sense, since I very much doubt that we'll be around long enough to make it anywhere more significant than say.. Mars. >_>

Yes, the rational explanation for something you dont understand is magic instead of all the research at your disposal that details how they did it

all the way down to how they cut the rock and the socioeconomic conditions that enabled the constructions

And how come metallurgy, for instance, advanced as slow as it did and concurrently across civilizations if the aliens only visited one group. Maybe they're organic robots.

They were robots at one time and then through observation of wildlife they came to understand the advantages of organic matter and began to use cloning to develop new body parts that could be controlled electrically. Over time, they slowly began to change their power source to an internal chemical system fueled by other organic matter and even began to offload computing power to organic components until they were eventually indistinguishable from organic lifeforms.

And maybe we were one of their prototyoes.

But enough about 2004 Battlestar Galactica.

Never said that construction of the pyramids is "magic." But I will never believe that simple men were able to lift stone blocks that weigh 10 tons and place them perfectly in correlation with the Earth's axis.

Why are you assuming they were simple men? There were highly intelligent people back then. You think our era has a monopoly on minds like Einstein? That's silly.

A laser sail with a sail that is 320 km (200 miles) in diameter would need just over 12 years. Meanwhile, a sail measuring about 965 km (600 miles) in diameter would arrive in just under 9 years.
An antimatter engine would need 8 years.
The Alcubierre Warp Bubble can do it in less than 4 years

This is technology from quite far into the future, fam.

Ha, did they do that? I've never seen the show. I just made that up off the top of my head to be absurd.
