Three times ends the quest, actually. Unless someone ate for Felyne Insurance before the quest, which forgives one cart.

Has it always been like this in previous MH installments? I know in MH4U hunts were scaled based on the number of monsters. When hunting a single monster its health would be 100% of its norm for example but when hunting two of them, their health are reduced. I co-oped through most of it with one friend with a third occasionally joining us so can't say if I noticed a difference between two and three players.

Monsters get 2.6 times the health in multiplayer which isn't that bad. And yes, in multi-monster hunts, the monsters all have less health. I actually think 4 players is overkill when people know what they're doing.

Yeah, It's still a thing. The game even directly displays "OUT OF RANGE" when you're not in critical distance now.

Also I use mostly Lance and Charge Blade in this game. I try to pick at least two new weapons each game. I've played these games for like 1400 hours though so I'm a big MH nerd.

Thank you for the insight. 2.6x more health doesn't seem that bad at all especially given how one player can something act as a distraction/tank while the other player(s) can set traps, focus on the tail/limbs, etc. Of course monsters will always have that sixth sense of knowing when someone is trying to heal and make a beeline for that player.

I read of friendly fire but my friend(s) and I were good about keeping our distance. My friend with the hammer usually focus on the head while I with the SS focus on the tail/limbs or mounting attacks.

I have read of groups with three players going ham while one focus on just crowd control. I never witness it in person but can only imagine when setup right, monsters go down quickly.

Good to know. I didn't play with LBG that long but I'd imagine at some point one would be accustom to being at the critical distance without any indicators.

A lot of newbies probably don't know anything about critical distance since up until recently, slice shots were OP and they have no distance penalties.

Just for the record, playing with two people, even someone you know is hard mode.

It's fine for the first half of the game but as I've been playing with a couple of friends, we've found it very difficult in the latter half with just two people. Three is manageable.

You unlock ingredients through quests, deliveries and foraging some specific items from the resource points marked "?" on the map. You keep the ingredients forever once unlocked, but you can't eat the same ingredient twice in a row unless a certain amount of time has passed.

No, unlocking ingredients just gives you more variety/better buffs.

Basically you're just upgrading from gruel to steak with the canteen quests.The ingredients are permanent.

No. There's a couple of new Ya-Ku monsters who share Kut-Ku's personality but have the body of jaggis, and there's a monster or two that shares Kut-Ku's skeleton so they could always bring back Kut-Ku in G-rank or the next game.

Ya-Ku and the Kut-Ku aren't the same. Kut-Ku are bigger and breath fires. they also try to run you over. and you mostly bounce off them. Ya-Ku just digs for a stone and try to bash you with it and you only bounce when they are holding a stone.

I always hated the Kut-Ku that posion you.

I praise this game for having almost all new enemies, but all the new enemies feel kind of a joke compared to past game.

I just fought Kushala Durarara or whatever the fuck it's name is, and it was quite possibly one of the most tedious, frustrating and dumb bosses I've ever fought, holy shit. 100% of it's moves stuns you for a minimum of 3 full seconds and during that time it can easily get a free hit off you and then spams the area full of tornado that also stun you, he has moves with stupid big hitboxes, you can get hit by some attacks even if you're behind him. He also has a dumb tornado move where he makes one and just sits flying inside it so it wastes time and there's no way to get him unless he decides to come out in which case he still fly around, if you're using a bladed weapon you can't hit half of his body cause it bounces. And you can't use the Glider Mantle against it because reasons I guess.

I ended up losing due to time out because all it did was fly away and spam stupid moves, when I had it low health it decided to fly away to go to it's nest...despite us already being there.

I'm gonna try again tomorrow and just spam it with flash pods and see how that goes.

If this is how the other Elder Dragons are I don't think i want ot continue playing.

Hmm, more like 5 monsters according to the leaked list. And it'll be spread out over the course of a year at least, so maybe one every few months. So basically people will come back and hunt the new monster a couple of times and then leave again.

Use a weapon with blue sharpness. Keep it sharpened. Aim for his weak spots. Use flash pods. Maybe make some armor pieces and use decorations with the windproof skill.

Kushala is annoying but not impossible solo. Wind Proof skill helps. Jiva was tedious and a long, boring fight but still doable solo.

I'd say Vaal Hazak is the easiest elder (aside from Zorah, obviously).

He has Ohko capabilites and miasma(which is admittedly easily countered if you have his legs and miasma 1 jewel) but his attacks are more punishing than Kushala, you never feel threatened fight kush.

i felt so dumb triple carting to testo. i dodge into his dust and it blew up and stun me. of course then he killed me in one hit. I almost had him too. Broke all his breakable parts.

Also on Kusha use elderseal weapons to take away his wind powers. i wished poison worked like in previous games.

Kushala is my favorite monster in the series but I find him tough to fight in this game. The wind is seemingly everywhere and he likes to pounce a lot. The hardest monster to me is Nergigante because of how fast he can swipe at you and how hard he hits if you make one little mistake. I think Vaal Hazak is the easiest, but I also use 3 miasma decorations to take away his largest threat.

Just make val haa legs and miasma 1 jewel and its negated lol

Im biased about gigante because Ive fought him 37 times already (actual number) so i know his moves.
