Definitely my most memorable card from Innistrad.

....because it was my fiance's first mythic she ever pulled. She was VERY underwhelmed. It still sits in her trade binder, unwanted, to this very day.

I knew Akroma was a lock looking at the numbered list of cards that had been revealed but I figured they'd slot her at rare. Akroma at Mythic is just kinda dumb at this point-- I guess I'd have been hyped if it was new awesome art but salt to the wound is it's Akroma with her worst art to boot.

Sometimes I wonder what the purpose of these sets are.

They're not great as reprint sets because the amount of worthwhile reprints is usually pretty small, and anything at mythic doesn't see much of a price drop.

They're reasonably fun to draft, but at $30 a pop it's hard to justify doing that more than once.

My LGS prefers sealed FNM for some reason, or maybe the store is just trying to push more packs. I hope it doesn't hold for A25 because $60 sealed is gonna suuuuck.

So many people complaining about this set. I feel like one of the few that is really happy with it. It does a great job at showing Magic's history, and the new art of some of the stuff is very nice. Is it a poor people thing, where they are wanting all of the cards to be dirt cheap with excessive reprints? Shouldn't have got into Magic in the first place then.

It is kind of unfortunate that Limited players aren't going to like it because the designers stuck cards in just to check boxes, but collectors aren't going to like it because they weren't checking boxes hard enough.

The only reason I would draft this is the chance I get cards passed from someone who doesnt know the foil multipliers of cards that have never been in foil before.

My main problem with the set is the mythic selection. Imperial Recruiter, Jace, Clique, and Obliterator are exciting, as well as the artifacts. Gisela and Wild Hunt aren't bringing anyone to the yard but they're okay. Animar is good I guess.

Doomsday was previously a fairly low value rare (it has new art at least which helps a bit)
Armageddon was previously a fairly low value rare
Tree was a low value mythic
The two Akromas aren't great, and Fury in particular has been released in so much supplemental content that there's been abundant easy access if you want it
Prossh is not only low value but was in a precon so if you were there and wanted him you easily had him

I realize they can't all be amazing but yeah it's unfortunate. Like I think just replacing the easily obtained low value mythics with middling stuff it would be fine. Also every color having a bomb would be nice-- blue got preferential treatment. Green and White got hosed.

I think everything that isn't the Mythics looks pretty great though.

The mythics not having value I dont mind at all. They have such a low impact on box value they could be garbage and I wouldnt mind.

My much bigger issue is the lack of printing cards that make sense in the set at all. Like where is doubling season? There is no reason it shouldnt be here. How are there no Eldrazi in a set about Magics history? We have ramp in the set. How can we not have Newlamog or Ugin? You know, actual iconic cards instead of.... Tree of Perdition which nobody has ever liked? And is an anti-combo with triskadekaphobia?

Like Doomsday at mythic is awesome. Tree is wtf
