I'd normally agree, but even a contract can't legally bind you to do something illegal and I can't help but feel that this borders on a violation of her rights somehow.

What illegal activity was compelled by the contract?

Private Catholic school, so she's out of luck.

From my quick Googling, "moral turpitude" is ill-defined in a legal sense. It has a generic definition:
An act or behavior that gravely violates the sentiment or accepted standard of the community.

A gay person has the right to marry another gay person. So a contract prohibiting such marriage is a violation of his/her right, regardless of weasel words like that.

Morally speaking, it's sickening, and a school shouldn't be able to fire someone for how they live their life outside of school if they don't break any laws. But legally speaking, due to that clause in the contract she signed, it's unfortunately a "fair, next" and I don't think she has much of a chance if she tries to sue in court.

How can a contract between two private parties be unconstitutional? Constitutions are made to limit the power of governments and define the rights of the people that the government will recognize (but does not compel private entities to recognize). That's what laws are for, and neither the federal government nor Florida have laws declaring sexual orientation as a protected class within their anti-discrimination laws.

Doesn't look like they had a problem with her being gay. she just got married to the same sex which is frowned upon and goes against the schools values. plus putting it up all over social media.

at my cousin's school a teacher got fired because she got pregnant out of wedlock which also is frowned upon. similar sort of thing I guess. and in my school a teacher resigned because she was getting a divorce.

in a secular point of view it's no big deal but in a Christian/Catholic point of view it's a no no.

I'm sure similar stuff goes on in Muslim and Jewish schools but no one gives them shit for it.

Would it be illegal for them to have written it into the contract that she couldn't marry a black person? If so, then she has a case. Either way, they will probably settle out of court because they don't want any more negative press.
