alright, yea one game. After having like 4 games' worth of content on the other one, it's not like you have to get it right away. And by the time you're ready to buy it you could probably get it for like $20 or so

I guess what I really meant is that it's another game to play. I don't feel like KH is worth this time investment. When I thought it was just the 2 games I hadn't played and I could just skip 1 and 2 (which makes the "6 game" price point moot) and, if I'm understanding right, a bunch of cutscenes turned into a movie, I was POSSIBLY willing.

I also staunchly believe that no game series should ever have more spinoff series than mainline titles if they actually intend for it to be a unified plot. So they basically lost me after 358/2.

358/2 days isn't really needed, and that's why on the collection they only have the cutscenes on it. It's seriously only Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance that are needed for 3. And then that mini one on the 2.8, but that thing's just a short thing akin to like, Ground Zeroes.

Like even Chain of Memories is NICE to have played for context but not needed for 3 or the main games. Which of course yea yea Marluxia is apparently in 3 now but still.

But how do you actually know which of these will end up important? You can't! You say CoM isn't needed but then say "well I mean Marluxia is there." Doesn't that imply that it's probably needed?

Also straight up thought DDD and 358/2 were the same game until just now, christ.

I don't even really think of half the spin-offs as true spin-offs simply because they still progress the main plot. Chain of Memories is like KH1.5, Dream Drop Distance is like KH2.5, and Birth By Sleep is like KH0. And I guess the new thing in 2.8 is like KH0.5?

If all the games were scattered across the different consoles still I would be more in your favor but they put the entire series on literally 2 purchases. At that point it's more on you to put in the time if you want, and if you don't want to then I guess that's it. I still stand by only really needing BBS and DDD for 3 but that might still be too much for some, so it's what it is.

I don't think those games have the production values to be called numbered entries in the franchise, though. Rehashed worlds and memory loss plots? Playing through he same game 3 times with different characters? Those are side-ass side games.

I just remembered Clemps is doing videos on all of these games, though, so that solves that problem.

I suppose JUST IN CASE I'll ask if I can play BBS and not have to play Terra's part again since I already did that once, and it won't lock me out of some final chapter thing.

Maybe I won't think the gameplay is an total joke if I don't have to play on the actual injury inducing piece of hardware that was the PSP.

Based on the KH3 trailers we've seen so far, both of those games seem pretty essential.

otherwise no such luck unless you just want to watch it on YouTube or something

BBS is in the past and DDD is in the future so who knows which will really matter for KH3

Sure Vanitas is in 3 but so is Marluxia so it's all up in the air
