Cloud's BSB1 and 2 should both be in the 3rd Anniversary BSB selection, so if you want it that badly you can get it for $30 next month.

If you're on the fence, might want to wait until we see what kind of banner we get on Sunday. Japan is getting a darkness pickup banner, but some people insist global won't get those relics so there's a chance we might get something completely different.

Honestly pretty decent draw if I'm only going to do one. Only improvement to make would be swapping that Riku LMR (which isn't going to be useful with no Riku relics) for a Sora or Cloud LMR. Just glad I didn't get stuff like the three Sora Glints which aren't useful unless I plan to invest in Sora.

Actually, you will still need one of them. Ramza's LMR gets him a full ATB and initial noncharge, but it doesn't affect his Soul Break gauge.

Yeah, you do need DMT or MM - but it's still a very good LM. Having hastega instantly saves precious seconds.

I 100 gemmed another Cloud USB, bummer. I was pretty excited when I saw the disco ball.

Ultimates mastered, really easy, through it is a new realm so that's to be expected.

Trickster died fast to Marche's USB powered Assault Saber speedblitz alone. I only saw him attack twice, I guess two doublecasts of 5x9999 was pretty much his entire lifebar.

Squall and Yuffie were pretty easy as well, Yuffie is really weak but she does target the healer with ranged attacks (or maybe it was just a coincidence she always attacked Rosa) I focused on killing Squall first since he has stronger attacks with Marche's assault sabers, Bartz was hitting both with Tornado Strike until Squall was dead then he finished Yuffie off with Snowspell Strikes.

Cloud is our first A++! (At least for global) Even then he's pretty basic, lay on attack breaks since he has piercing and multi hit attacks, and have a second healer or an entruster support your medica mage and he's not too bad. He has a lot of a health but compared to 4* magicite he's paper thin, he doesn't have a weakness but as long as you aren't using ice/fire/lightning your best DPS will do.

100 gemmed Cloud's USB also. Now have an 8* fully augmented version. Helpful for the FF 7 realm, and should be quite useful for the jenova synthesis torment........in 6 months.

Try RW Lion's BSB, Vaan's USB or Faris USB2 along with those new dancer abilities (the large attack/magic debuff one stacks with attack breakdown IDs.)

Have you beaten magicite bosses yet? Their stat boost are probably why people are having an easier time as well.

That might be it, a lot of us brought level 80+ Taharka magicite with us for the blade ward passive skill.

Physical blinks will probably help a lot as well.

i don't know what a taharka magicite is but i had no trouble once i actually brought wall. no healer USB or blink either. though i did have Enkidu.

That cockroach looking thing from Final Fantasy 9 that drops from Sealion, I always tend to bring him in physical heavy bosses.

Wall should have been a given to bring into this fight since only two characters have synergy in this realm, I know most event ultimates have been lol easy since we're used to fighting Magicite but still some of them have nasty gimmicks. Through ironically not Cloud since he's just fast and strong, once you get enough mitigation he's straightforward.

Also having your party in the back row using mages or ranged weapons also helps, though I managed to do it mostly front row since I kinda had to since I used Marche against Cloud.

oh i've only done sealion once, because that's one of the two 3*s i can't sub-30. apparently i do have Taharka but it's only blade ward level 1, would that really make much of a difference?

and the only reason i didn't bring wall the first time was because the description said defense-ignoring attacks. i shouldn't listen to those useless things.

and yeah i also used Marche. him + Orlandu is kinda my default best team now.

Blade Ward is really effective since it stacks with Defense boon, but you have to break his level 80 cap before it activates.

Eh. Blade Ward is ok, but even if your Taharka is lvl 99, it's 3%. Certainly better than nothing, but not really a significant damage reduction.

Protectga, Wall, multiple stacking Power breaks, a back row party, and physical blinks are all better ways of dealing with Cloud.

It stacks if you hit the defense cap and I think even effects peircing attacks, it may be a small boost but sometimes it's just that little boost that can save someone's life.

Angeal finally got a BSB in Japan, it's okay. He still sucks but he might be decent in a Cid Mission now for the 50% crit boost. Gau is probably the worst non-core again.

3rd anniversary can't get here soon enough... I've basically given up on Tiamat, Ixion, and Midgardsormr until I get some better relics. I guess when we get the earth ninja abilities in two weeks I'll try Ixion again.

Well I took a bit over a year long break so I got a bajillion from renewal dungeons. I also had only about 550 realm dungeons completed when I returned. Now I'm well over 600.

Also I skip most banners which normals tend to draw on like Onion Knight and TG Cid (gotta get those Agrias relics !!) which helps.

Argh figures I'd 100 gem Rinoa's Ultra of all things.

I mean it beats a 3* or 4* but why can't I 100 Gem the featured item on a banner when it's someone I like.

I guess I'll use her in FFVIII torment dungeons down the line cause it's not like you aren't getting some duds from 5 FFVIII characters anyway

Kinda annoying it's a strong Ice Boosting item and none of the Ice Mages I like can use it. Maybe Serah will be buffed to equip thrown or something.

That's one of the best ultras in the game, everyone else here is probably super jealous. Sub30ing Fenrir will be cake with that and you have one of the best tools for beating Tiamat.

Ultimate mastered, these were annoying, not so much hard but mostly the Cid Missons forcing you to use characters like Zell.

Biggs and Wedge were easy regardless, just have to hope you don't get slowed. Rinoa used summons and Squall used aoe spellblades to kill both of them at the same time so they don't spam the ultimate short fuse.

Spider robot was a DPS race but since I did the Cid Mission and this thing resists everything except lightning so I was limited from using Rinoa's chain. Rinoa summon Vali, Fujin used chain thundaga and Squall use Thundering Quadstrikes. It has some gimmick where if you don't do enough damage in a turn limit it fully recovers. You can stall at the start for meter or buffs through.

Cerberus is a status effect spewing bastard, he can fuck you over right at the start with silence or blind. I just magic speedblitz'd him with Onion Knight mUSB, Rinoa's chain, double cast chain blizzagas and Fujin did the breakdowns with her BSB. Cerberus also hits really hard even with wall+shellga and breaks and he does 3 spells in a row, it's a real lifesaver to use Fujin here if you have her BSB!

Also we got lots of ice orbs from the events and Cid Missions!

Went back to try Bismarck and Liquid Flame, to try and sub30 them with OK's pUSB, plus other stuff. Improved my Bismarck time by just over 20 seconds, and can now consistently beat him at about 29. A tad dicey, but not reliant on doublecasting or anything. Improved my time on Liquid Flame by about 12 seconds, beating him at about 25 seconds. LD'ed + USB Bartz spamming engulfing twinstrike, plus LD'ed BSB2 Tidus providing support, is pretty damaging. That leaves Hydra (~44s), and Golem (~50s) as the last two that I need to sub 30 (aside from Mist Dragon, who I still need to try). I did Golem with Alph/Fujin as my DPS, but I think I can do it with a physical team, even with his shenanigans. Cloud and Bartz should be enough. Hydra I'm not sure, Bartz is my main DPS, and I don't really have a good secondary option.

Generally speaking any buff that hits the same combination of stats will overwrite itself unless it's a special named buff like an EX Mode or something, and crit chance isn't a stat, so yeah without having actually looked into it explicitly I'm fairly certain that would overwrite.
