I don't think they actually let you do anything at the pyramids except take a picture and go "ooooh", plus it's not cool and out in the desert or anything. it's backed by a shitty, nasty city

I want to see them before ISIS destroys them as they swore to do. But I also don't want to be in the middle East or travel

lol the whole fucking point of actually going is to explore/touch stuff

I mean I understand it's "sacred" but this completely turned me off on the idea lol. I swear there's always some caveat to things like this

That was exactly it

But tbh I completely forgot about how the other places I want to visit probably have the same rules; I would like to see temples and all that crap in person, but if I can't go into certain areas/examine everything than I might as well stick to these youtube documentaries :/

I dreamed for years of walking up to stonehenge and putting my hand on it. but by the time I got there, you were banned from getting too close. because of some people who went crazy one day and for some reason climbed all over it like 10 years before I got there. I remember seeing it in the newspaper in america. there was a picture of one guy who looked like a british redneck, standing on the stone. it pissed me off. it ruined it for the world after that day.

A lot of the pyramids and tombs in Egypt are highly regulated. But I'm glad I got to climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Magician, and El Castillo down in Mexico along with other structures before they roped it off from climbing.

I've been to the Great Pyramids...in Super Mario Bros 3 and Double Dragon 3. Seriously, sounds like it would be an interesting trip. Might like to check the place out someday and Jerusalem.

Put it towards the end of your bucket list since the region is relatively dangerous. If you want to actually climb a pyramid, you can go down to Mexico. They're a lot more loose about that stuff. Granted their pyramids aren't as cool... and a lot of Mexico can be dangerous as well.

All that said, I would love to visit Egypt as well.
