So, back in 2012-2013, I played my first gacha game, Monster Maestro. I can't really remember how the gameplay worked, but you basically had your monster cards go up against your opponents', and there were type advantages and each monster had effects that boosted other monsters of its type and whatever. The metagame was super intense.

This game was interesting because it never gave you any premium currency for free, so to do a pull, you needed to spend real money. However, it allowed trading between players.

So the game had it's own forum accessible right from the main menu. I went and said I had this really good 5 star monster (I didn't) that was really great for fire teams. So I told people that they could have a chance at it, if they could guess what my favorite cartoon was as a kid. I allowed everyone one chance, and nearly everyone got the answer wrong. So to give them more chances, I said that if they traded me lesser value Ultra Rare monsters, I'd give them another chance AND a hint.

The answer to the question was The Brother's Flub

Naturally, nobody guessed that answer. I didn't even know the show existed until I chose it solely on the basis of it being super obscure. And my only hints I gave were "It's about brothers," and "It's in space."

No lie, I got, like, 15 different Super Rare and Ultra Rare monsters from the deal. And the game devs never did anything about it even though some guy went and said he reported me for the "scam."

I also used to nickname Dittos in Pokemon Sun and Moon "5 IVs" in order to scam people out of legendaries. That was fun and easy.

Diablo 2, scam people out of items constantly. Ahhh those were the days. We kept having to get more and more clever.

The best was some 40 year old who claimed he would have Blizzard ban me as he was a professional employee at some company (can't remember what he said) and that they'd take him serious. Myself and my friend lost it laughing at him for that one.

Join Left 4 Dead lobbies with a friend, which gave us 50% of the vote to kick. At the slightest mistake we'd vote to kick a guy which just needed one other vote to do, which usually passed. Then when it's just the us and the third guy, kick the him with our automatic majority and then quit, ending the game.

Vote to kick is a terrible abusable system.

In Town of Salem, I told everyone I was a Survivor just before night one. Turns out I was actually a Veteran and instead went on alert. I killed off 6 people in the first night: A Serial Killer, Mafioso, Janitor, Lookout, Sheriff, and Bodyguard.

Vanilla wow. There was a boat you could sneak onto and gank people relentlessly. Due to the fact that the boat moved between continents, if you released spirit it put you in the graveyard, alive, 20 min away from the boat. You walked back, and just got ganked again.

So long as you didn't release spirit you came back to life on the boat when it changed continents.

And that's the story of how I made highwarlord in a battleground that had very very few people who did pvp.

That's pretty fucked up, TC.

I rarely play online so I don't have any such stories. But I wouldn't want to just ruin people's fun or scam them in the first place.

There was one level in warhawk where you could park a tank ALL the way across the map and just continuously fire on the enemies base. My teammates would ALWAYS hate it at first because you had to kind of block the road to get in the right position. My score would always be close to or higher than every other players combined. I got unbelievable amounts of hatemail, but so what?

This topic made me think of old SCUMM games.

Worst thing I probably did was go on a killing spree in non-PVP sanctioned areas in a MUD I used to play. Got banned from the game for a while.
