Did you read this story? She is fighting hard to remain anonymous even though new hamphshire law requires her name be published, i think her picture too, can't blame her, there's a lot of scumbags in this world. Though that 20 year old winner in florida didn't seem to have a problem with this.

It's part of the deal though, they use winners to advertise the lottery more and convince people to keep buying tickets.

Main reason I don't play the lottery. The last thing I want if I end up with a windfall of money is having everyone know I ended up with a windfall of money.

I would love it so I could laugh in their faces.

Did she signed the ticket already? Does New Hampshire allows a blind trust?

Also, I think they should get rid of that rule; if you win people will find out anyway but having a bunch of random ppl know you're rich...

c'mon, especially in a place like New Hampshire :/

Indeed. Most winners already mismanage the money. Don't need to make it worse by having beggars coming out of the woodworks. I know the lottery organization(s) want to cover their arse so folks don't think they're hoarding the money but there's gotta be a better way across the board so winners don't need to jump through hoops to claim their money while protecting themselves and their family. When I read stories about past winners it is rather depressing even among those with good money management.

If they made me take a photo, I'd just show up dressed entirely differently than I normally would be, and wearing a ton of make-up, and as much stuff to obscure my face as possible. So it'd be pretty much impossible for people to recognize me from my photo. Then immediately change my name and move to a different address.
